It was made for a romhack of Earthbound (that nobody talks about because it was terrible). The best thing Hussie ever did was Wizardology.

You know how dangan ronpa had like 30 kids try to kill each other and the first thing tumblr did was design their own murder teens? I think a fandom can blow up if you have thirty characters in it who can be summarized in twelve words like in a bio blurb. I'm a fat blue sweaty boat lover and this is my slugsona.

There's nothing special that makes a fandom bad except size. The bigger it is, the more purestrain crazy comes out of the woodwork. Harry Potter fandom was a pit of astral plane Snape wives and worse back in the day. Sonic is some kind of weird outlier that's somehow been the bottom of the barrel for like a decade.
