Just regular ol' banned. I'm sure a new account gifted from the TV IV would make his heart grow three sizes that day.

I didn't really care about the content of his post. It was mostly that a tviv thread feels empty without Joe there. Sat what your will but his posts tend to generate more posts.

Listening to the latest Harmontown, the most poignant moment so far is actually the saga of Dan's neighbours' eucalyptus trees.

Alls I know is this will make season 7 the best season.

Season 7, featuring Joel McHale and NO ONE ELSE. Dan Harmon's more brilliant than ever, now that he has given up sobriety entirely.

Harmon is livetweeting the Hustler-produced porn parody of Community, which pretty much seals the deal. rip in peace

Which was the episode where Chang auditions for a play with Annie? I'm watching season 6 backwards and I feel like I should have come across it by now.

Queer Studies & Advanced Waxing, aka the Gay Dean episode. Goddamn that song killed it, I wonder who they got to perform it.

I find it funny that his reaction to the porn parody is better than his reaction to Season 4.

I just started listening to Harmontown and the episode on their national tour where a girl in the audience falls asleep during the D&D segment and Erin singles her our and berates her until she runs away crying to the restroom is really creepy and uncomfortable. Especially when she actually chases her down and then drags her back on stage later on to show that it's totally cool you guys, haha just another wild and crazy time at Harmontown, cue that peepee doodoo song ![]()

I listened to it a long time ago, but wasn't she drunkenly screaming stuff from the audience? That's worth a berating. From the sound of things Erin has the patience of a saint most of the time.

Yeah Harmontown is pretty silly in that way, they give the audience a voice and generally it's terrible people who are willing to interrupt shows. In a normal stand up or improv setting it's common for people on stage to berate or at least admonish hecklers in some way. Not put a mic in their face. If I recall correctly the lady was drunk and really annoying. She just kept repeating her "I wasn't doing anything wrong" excuse.

Yahoo says it lost $42 million on Community and its two original shows As reported by Variety, Yahoo CFO Ken Goldman explained during the company’s quarterly earnings call that Yahoo’s video division lost $42 million in the last quarter, and he “specifically singled out Community” (as well as Yahoo’s two original shows Sin City Saints and Other Space) as the reason behind “what went wrong.”

Other Space was good though, just no one wanted to watch it on their lovely browser service.

Yeah, I'm fine with Community being done but Other Space was cool and I'm sad if this means we won't get any more. (Especially since Milana Vayntrub needs to be in stuff outside of phone commercials.)

Man, this show really was a blight. Remember when everyone was saying (Harmon included) that if the show didn't have to rely on the archaic nielson system it would be raking in the dollar?

But yeah, if they couldn't sell enough ads to make it back, then what's it matter?

PostNouveau posted:Aw, they're not gonna make more Other Space? Now I'm sad, that show was good ![]() Yahoo's shows suffered from them being on Yahoo, and to specifically point one element out - you can't be a company that is completely based on the internet that has been around for 20+ years, who makes its own content and STILL puts everything being a geo lock. I mean, nobody should be that stupid. Congratulations idiots, I watched all your shows anyway and you made $0 revenue off it, when you could have easily.

Are you guys telling me that Yahoo makes TV shows? That doesn't make any sense, I don't believe you.
|

What Yahoo was doing was always a major risk that had a potentially huge upside - be the next Netflix! - if they could figure it out - which it was clear from the beginning they hadn't. Yahoo still has a lot of capital to burn, so expect more poorly thought out forays into other mediums.

Yeah, I watched Community on both my Roku and my computer, and Yahoo never gave me a single ad. RIP Community. You were good a lot of the time.

Oh, Yahoo. You stopped innovating in the late 90s and just now do crappier versions of things everyone else has already made. I tried to watch Other Space and the player kept farting out and going to color bars and poo poo. But I'm having the same 'please can I see you more' for Vayntrub.

I still exclusively use the same yahoo email address that I had in 1998. While I'm happy I got another season of Community, Yahoo really doesn't need to produce its own TV shows.

Other Space was really good, shame Screen sucks as a service.

I'm not sure if I ever got ads either, and I was streaming from my 360. It's like they thought they could make a video service just because other people were doing so, but they had no back catalogue or other incentive, and didn't really promote themselves.
