If anyone's interested Neosignal Podcast Volume 006 came out earlier this week. Here's a copy of the podcast on Soundcloud if you having trouble downloading it from their website (They're using that shar.es bullshit which was broken as hell when I tried to use it): https://soundcloud.com/dubstepdemocracy/neosignal-podcast-volume-006Neosignal Podcast Volume 006 Track List posted:1.phace,misanthrop,mefjus - twisted (neosignal) On the subject of Phace & Misanthrop they were recently signed to Noisia's "Division Recordings" label (Which I think is a sub-label of Vision) under their new moniker, Neosignal. Phace & Misanthrop formed the Neosignal record label back in 2008 however early last year they took on the Neosignal name themselves and began to produce an album which will be released under Division Recordings. Unfortunately I don't have high hopes for this new album as Phace & Misanthrop decided to celebrate their signing to Division Recordings by releasing the following abortion: Noisia - Stigma (Neosignal Remix). All they've done is taken the original (Which is already an amazing track: http://youtu.be/xtppf3xkby4), slowed it down by 50%, and dropped in a pinch of wub to make it sound more like dubstep. IMO it just comes off as lazy pandering. Than again I could be looking at this the wrong way so a second opinion would be great.

I've decided to seriously up my production game this year, and part of that is putting all of my dark, aggressive D&B tunes under a new moniker - 'Style Reese' (yes I'm a total nerd). There are a couple tracks already on my new SoundCloud page; I'm particularly proud of Perfect. What do you guys think?

For the first time in a while there's a D&B gig in my city which I'm really psyched about : Black Sun Empire are doing a show in Perth, WA next month: http://www.facebook.com/events/324615817640435/. I'm really looking forward to it as I love BSE and I don't think there's a single track of theirs that I don't love. Are there any Perth, WA goons here in this thread?

Oh man, not sure if you guts have heard this but I recently discovered it and holy poo poo it's so good. That melody has been stuck in my head for like 5 days straight. http://youtu.be/kxvCGtnM--g The original dubstep non-remix is also really, really loving good. I'd recommend giving that a listen as well. The synths after the the second drop give me chills.

I'm a little over halfway through listening to the new Nu:Logic album all the way through for the first time. I love these brothers' individual output (hell, Logistics had one of the best DNB albums of last year), but this album isn't grabbing me that much. For the most part, these tracks are good but none of them punch me in the gut like some of Logistics' and Nu:Tone's do. Well, except for this one, which owns (although the album version is 6 minutes long and it takes like 2 minutes for it to really get to thumpin'): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgPzn779dsA edit: Okay, this one's pretty dope too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-tXXNcdW6k Other than these 2, I'm not really sold on the album. Finally got around to listening to Nu:Logic's (Nu:Tone & Logistics) album "What I've Always Waited For" which was released under Hospital Records last month and it's bloody brilliant. My favourite track from the album has to be Day & Night. The chorus interludes along with the piano chords are chill as. IMO this album has changed my opinion of Hospital Records a fair bit.

Since I've just posted in the Therapy? thread it's only right I post this in here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P1OjDuSNQA Let's get a bit more involvement in the thread with a challenge - what other official dnb remixes of rock songs are there? There's always been a disconnect between rock and electronica, particularly back in the 90s when stuff like dnb reared its ugly head, but there will have been other bands like Therapy? who were open to experimenting with that side of things. Again, I'm looking for official remixes, ones sanctioned by the band themselves.

There were probably a few UK labels as well, getting dnb remixes, but probably more on the Brit-pop end of the rock spectrum. Goldie had a lot of random remixes in the late 90s, and I'm sure there were a few others as well.

It's worth pointing out though, that just because it's official doesn't necessarily mean it's sanctioned by the band. I know Goldie, Photek and Dillinja did a bunch of remixes for Bjork, but I guess she's not exactly rock. I'm trying to think of what else though, surprisingly I'm not really bringing up too much - at least in terms of remixes of rock music kind things. As has been mention, Goldie did a couple of remixes of the likes of Garbage and Bush. But apart from those and what's already been mentioned I can't think.

His music selection and style has changed over the years. You may want to check out stuff on his Good Looking Records (GLR) label, check out some of the artists on there. Also, I forget where I read it last week, but some blog was talking about the mid to late 90's GLR artists and their ethos is probably best represented now by the artists that came out of the recent Autonomic era of music (ASC, Synkro, Indigo, etc.).

I pretty much make it a point to focus on intelligent dnb (just using the term as a grouping here), and am absolutely in love with the new broken beat, chilled out stuff. Basically anything on Exit, Shogun, i'm a huge D-Bridge fan, etc. Fokuz stuff can get a little too airy from time to time, but there are some crunchy breaks in there too. I still have my crate of old GLR though, not to mention stuff like my old Artcore LPs, and the classic 'atmo' stuff is great and I still love pulling it out from time to time. ASC is pretty much my favorite producer right now.
