Anyone want to get a couple practice games in in a few hours? I have some things I want to test. I'll be in the steam group chat room.

A local game store is going to be running a bit of a crazy tournament. 150 point lists, with all faction requirements removed. You can use any ships, and all faction requirements from upgrade cards are removed. It is also 3 rounds of 60 minutes each. That should mean every game goes to time with those list counts. I am not sure where to even start, other than using Palpatine on either a Hell Bus, or Lothal Rebel. The thought of 2 IG-88s backed up by one of those sounds pretty tough.

My answer to those things is always a Biggs, Howlrunner, Serissu, black crack swarm.

150 points with no faction limits? How many jumpmasters can you fit in one list with a palp shuttle?

thespaceinvader posted:150 points with no faction limits? Four, because that's the most of any one kind of large ship you can play in an X-wing tournament setting.

I want another big ship to fly with my Hounds Tooth for a 'reluctant bounty hunter allies' list, so which is simpler to fly well, the Punishing One or the IG-2000?

Punishing One. Good dial, primary weapon turret.

Yep, definitely P1. Bossk/Dengar and Latts/Dengar are both very solid lists. Latts in particular is a mean-as-poo poo ace hunter.

Is there a good two ship list with Punishing One and Mist Hunter?
|
# ? Jun 11, 2016 21:46 |

Doubtful, I don't think you can make the mist hunter durable enough to spend 40+ points on it.

Some Numbers posted:Is there a good two ship list with Punishing One and Mist Hunter? Mist Hunters are pretty fragile (kinda like B-Wings) and building them up to 40ish points is rarely a good idea. That said, super dengar + railgun zuckuss isn't bad. https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f...amed%20Squadron With Dengar, you try to arc dodge and get close for those big shots. If you MUST get shot, make sure they're in arc so you get the return fire. Zuckuss basically wants a TL and a focus every turn. Then you're rolling 4-5 dice on every attack, fully modified. Cloaking Device is your get in or get out card--you can only count on it once, but it's probably gonna work a few times. Consider Hot Shot Blaster instead, if you worry about arc dodgers.

Strobe posted:Scum Biggs would 100% be "can't be targeted if another friendly ship is at range 1 and can also be targeted" Well, yeah, but that's no good for protecting expensive low-survivability ship. Biggs is great cause he lets you run X-Wings and HWKs (and Ghosts), I mean what would Scum have that could help a G1A build survive?

That's not really their schtick, though. Serissu is the closest they get. There might be something interesting in crew options, with something like "When defending, if you have already defended this round, you may roll an additional defense die."

thespaceinvader posted:RecSpec/R4 Agromech works better than Unhinged/K4 IME, but I usually run Dengar with VI, so... I got so much mileage out of Dengar with a mad damage setup. Deadeye, Overclock, Protons, Chimps, Fett. Deadeye fires the proton torpedoes, Overclocked R4 lets me take the focus token back, Guidance Chips lets me ensure an additional hit/crit, Fett strips an upgrade if I want him to, and I either have the focus token to use on my backfire attack (if I didn't have to use it on the torpedo shot) or I can use Overclocked R4 again to pull it back. If you want to, you could double-fire the proton torpedoes with Deadeye and use that single focus token a total of FOUR times. (You'd have a buttload of stress, but there's a lot of green on his dial, really.) That's 54 points for what amounts to one REALLY nasty opening-round shot. It's demoralizing to see what that thing can do. And it's enough to shove your illict of choice into the Jumpmaster with four bugzappers as your anvil, or throw on the Punishing One title and have three bugzappers. Any way you turn, that's a vicious faceoff. Dengar (33) Deadeye (1) Extra Munitions (2) Proton Torpedoes (4) Boba Fett (1) Overclocked R4 (1) Guidance Chips (0) Punishing One (12) Total: 54

Here's an idea off the top of my head that feels appropriately scum-like. Neutronium Shielding Illicit, 3 points Once per round, when defending cancel ALL results during the "compare results step." Then deal one face-up damage card to your ship. This card cannot be discardeded, turned face down, or otherwise modified this turn.

I like it except for the "gently caress you Boba Fett" deliberate silver bullet. It's not really necessary.

It's one point, and with this setup you're looking at having about four points left over with the Illicit and Crew slots open. I like Fett because you can use one of your massive target swats to neutralize something before it gets a chance to be nasty. I've used it to pull a Twin Laser Turret off a Y-Wing, which meant at that point I could ignore him until the end of the match, and to pull Hound's Tooth off a Bossk Bus. Both of those INFURIATED the other player, and were well worth it. For one point? I like the insurance having him around.

That wasn't the intent. I was just trying to word it so no matter what you couldn't cancel the crit, making it a gamble.

I flew this against my friend last night. He flew Tycho, Jake, and Ezra on a shuttle. I parked Bossk and let his Awings come to me. I had a real good roll with my HLC in the second round and one shotted Tycho. Dengar - punishing one title -VI -K4 -Unhinged Asteomech Bossk -Calculation -HLC -4Lom -K4 -Recon Specialist

Unclear antecedents. I was under the impression that the upgrade card couldn't be discarded, which looked like a deliberate "gently caress you" to the Boba crew.

ConfusedUs vs The Gate is a 100-25 win for ConfusedUs. 88b evaporated under a couple of homing missiles. 88c managed to survive several range 1 autoblaster attacks with no damage, even with TLs and stuff, but eventually fell. Airen got 1-shot by 88C.

He burns through them too quickly, and his primary with P1 is almost as good, especially as you should be able to guarantee range 1 anyway. It's a hell of a punch, though, if you can't. I don't think we'll ever see a Scum Biggs, although I suspect Fenn Rau will serve a similar purpose at any time when he's not at range 1, because people will be DESPERATE to kill him before he gets there...
