It's like how Batman is really a title for whoever wears the cowl, whether its Bruce Wayne, Terry McGinnis or Dick Grayson.

I think I laughed when they tried to hide who it was in the climax with a staticky silhouette. But that freakout/meltdown is just absolutely amazing. Although I have to question P3 protag's choice of cellphone wallpaper.

SMT4 question I've been saving up app points for MP recovery while walking. But then I arrived at Tokyo, which has A World Map and easy access to healing almost constantly. And also, this being SMT, the recovery could easily be something like 1 MP in 2 minutes. So, will there ever be a dungeon long enough to make it worth it? It is hella expensive too.

Amppelix posted:SMT4 question A note: It only recovers MP for the main character (there's an upgrade that heals the whole party's MP, but you have to be at like level 30 I think?). I dunno, it's not bad to have, especially if your MC has some crucial healing skills, but you may want to go for the extra skill slots for your MC and demons (ooh, and the Compendium discount ones).

I bought it when I was still wandering around Naraku, and it seems totally useless. You get in a fight before a noticeable amount of MP regenerates.

The second MP recovery upgrade is much better though and it unlocks a party MP recovery upgrade that makes it so you never have to worry about MP again. Definitely worth but expensive (150 app points in total).

You can pretty easily replace the MP recovery app with Spirit Drain, which should be available soon on Mou-Ryos and a bunch of other demons. If you want to mess around with other apps, this might be the way to go. I went with both, because I'm paranoid. The first level of MP Recovery will probably only diminish the drain on your magic if you're a caster, but the second easily allows you to Megido every encounter like you're some sort of an rear end in a top hat end-game boss. For reference, I am level 41 now and have unlocked all the skill slots for both Flynn and demons, the first two tiers of MP Recovery, and some other random stuff. The skill slots on demons seem to be the most useful, since they allow you to pass over skills from early on that will still be useful later, like Dekaja or Resist X.

There's a period where its worthless because you just level up before you run out of mana. Level 1 was enough for me to cast a spell every fight and be full for the next one. Level 2 is the never run out of MP except for bosses one and the party wide one's usefulness depends on your demons' mana pools and how often they need to cast a spell. Mana items are plentiful so it depends on how mindless you wanna go. I love just throwing out moves and hate having to pay attention so I grab them asap. Skill slots for both main guy and demons are the priority though, like Aithon says it lets you start building up some good inheritance. This run I'm going as a magic man after doing dex before and I'm not sure how to fill my slots. One of each element (either single or all target) and Almighty is 5 slots, 1 for Concentrate, what do I stick in the last 2 slots? A drain? An instakill move like Die For Me or Judgement Light? Doping? A heal? Or are those best left for a support guy with the buffs and debuffs?

Flynn can get Die For Me! and Judgement Light. It was surprisingly useful for random encounters. Especially if you have someone faster than him to take out anyone who's immune to one or the other.

You can definitely do Judgement Light because I blasted down most of the final dungeon with it last playthrough. I'm pretty sure you can do Die For Me! also but I've had that and Media disappear from my skill list and you don't really get a second chance for Die For Me! unfortunately. Antichthon sounds perfect for later. I'm thinking Trisagion/Thunder Reign and the other special fancy elemental moves when that time comes. Just got the -dynes as I hit the clear out the corpses quest. Salvation is definitely an idea too.

i don't know that you can pass down die for me! in which case you'd need to level a new alice every time you want to upgrade it. not sure on that though. judgement light can be passed down for sure. also one of the dlc demons (ancient of days) gives an improved concentrate, so if you have those, definitely pick that up later.

You can just register the demon like right before the point it does a demon whisper and just rebuy the demon and level it up really quickly to get a bunch of quick +1s for your skills. Hella expensive though.

The King is kind of a trap in that he's grossly overleveled for when he's first accessible. He's more manageable when you reach the next dungeon's boss.

Nah, all the others are steamrollable when they first turn up. You'll have waaaaay more variety available in what you can do for everything after the Contrarian King, presuming you don't do something silly like grind to level 45 just to beat Shadow Yukiko.

Contrarian King isn't even that hard if he doesn't abuse Rampage, which just seems to be overpowered for the level at which you'd likely give him a shot.

Let me know if I'm making GBS threads up the thread but I work for Rice Digital, we're a new retailer (previously just a news site) that specialises in Japanese stuff. Persona is one of the biggest games we're selling so we've got some nice deals for it. We're the only place to offer Persona 4 Arena Ultimax a free Junes t-shirt, which is really cool, and I'd appreciate anyone checking it out or spreading that news. This is majorly cool for us, and I hope people dig the shirt: http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/store/persona-4-arena-ultimax-ps3 We sold out of Persona Qs with the free tarot cards, but we are now offering the double-Teddie keyring and the Chie's badge set with pre-orders of that if it takes anyone's fancy. http://www.ricedigital.co.uk/store/persona-q-shadow-of-the-labyrinth-standard-3ds I hope everyone is looking forward to them! We're UK-based, though we do ship internationally.
