FilthyImp posted:A company just quoted us 20k to redo it so ugly rear end tile remains. Other people have already said to get other quotes, but if you have the time an easy way to save a bit of money is to remove the tiles yourself. It isn't that difficult, all you need is a decent hammer and a flat wide chisel to take the old tiles off.

Framing that with the kids toys in the background is a nice touch, great foreshadowing for the second act where their toddler loses an eye to that thing.

I honestly expect that counter to show up in a Forensics Files episode. Or maybe Snapped.

My apartment had a wooden counter with a corner like that. Not quite as sharp, but almost. I took a belt sander and rounded it off.

If I ever visited someone's house with a counter like that I would keep setting my glass on the very end, overhanging both sides of the counter, just TRYING to fall off. It's art.

FCKGW posted:No one has answered the why and I fear we may never get an answer I'm going to vote for forced compromise. Not enough space to the right to widen it that way, not enough room in the galley to widen it that way, so have a sliver of a spike so that there's *some* counter space and separation. Probably signed off from an overhead drawing by some salesperson pretending they're a kitchen designer.

It still should've been truncated when it was at least 2-3 inches wide, instead of coming to a point.

I think it's one of those PS1-era rendering errors with floating point vertices.

I get corners like that when onshape shits itself trying to tangent propagate an edge rounding command.

For a second my mind refused to believe that someone would design a counter like that and it was actually two separate photos side by side. Zil fucked around with this message at 22:47 on Aug 6, 2018 |

Well at least they cut off the corner in the top right. For safety.

I don't know if this is genius or terrible, but I saw it today. Yes it's old tires cut up and stretched between a welded rebar frame to form a fence. Yes the tires are just attached with zip ties.

Running a whole dishwasher because you have a couple dirty glasses would be a bit of an environmental atrocity though.
