Old but good. The video description is wrong as the Mustang doesn't have a turbo, it has a (then) prototype F1C Procharger supercharger which was still being developed at the time of this video. The car was owned at the time by Erik Andre, a Procharger employee at the time, and made a little over 600rwhp. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/watch-this-Turbo-Stang_89229.htm Here's an article about the car if you care. deviant. posted:How'd he get it to work with a transaxle? Are there details available: I haven't seen any build pics, just what I've posted here. It looks like he made an adapter plate to bolt it to the transaxle, with some kind of adapter that goes onto the end of the crank to mate with a flywheel. It's a very professional looking job, which figures since it's a show vehicle for his custom chopper shop.

We're not really sure right now. Everyone says the track conditions were great, but it's always possible something could have been on there. The driver said he wasn't shifting at the time, so someone mentioned it might be an error in the car's Active Handling. Though he was racing on street tires, so that may have been a contribution. The guy seemed to have handled it as best he could, trying to at least stay a little positive. It was his first time at the track with that car too.

Captain Cannabis posted:Haha this is what happens when your a douche high school kid with a hummer who parks in a handicap spot. That's what I thought at first until someone told me it was a custom parking spot. The guy turned himself in and admitted to keying 4 other H2's and stated he was a member of the sierra club and green peace. That's my biggest fear as a hummer owner, it isn't my truck breaking down, it isn't someone cutting into my soft top to steal something [ie. I got the stock cassette deck left in place], it's vandalism by some guy or gal with a cause. Now my H1 is used off road a lot, it has dents, holes and a few hundred scratches. It's the best vehicle to suit my needs [diesel jeep + towing + chase truck for SCORE desert racing] If anyone keyed it now there would be absolutely no point. I wouldn't notice it. Problem is the paint is flaking off and theres some oxidation on the aluminum body work, next spring I'd like to strip it all down, repair a few holes, rivet in a new panel or two and repaint the truck with extra clear coat so I can buff out branch scratches in the future. Problem is once my truck is all shiny I can imagine some knucklehead just coming up and keying it to prove a point. What point? Half the militant anti-hummer folks tend to run away from debate. It doesn't matter that I converted my truck to run on WVO and bio diesel, it doesn't matter that it gets better mileage then an H2 and no worse then most pickup trucks. It's just something about the Hummer that just sets people off. Oh well. I blame GM and their H2 marketing plan aimed at douchebags. GM Hummer was fine before you got involved. No one cared.

A guy took a Russian 1957 "Pobeda" and turned it into a plug-in electric. Funny how 560kg of batteries (about $3500 worth), which allow the car to go 100 km on an overnight charge at similar to original performance characteristics, added only 100 extra kilos compared to the heavy cast iron engine in place.

I never had any issues fitting an H1 in a regulation parking spot, it's the same width as a dually pickup, actually slightly narrower. Thats just lazy parking. Anyways to contribute, Our desert racing hummer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mMp3pErKGY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBTh4a2IxtQ We had it up to 142mph off road in Johnson Valley, we kept blowing hoses off the intercooler and turbocharger so we had to turn the boost down a bit. We're starting to run MORE and SCORE races to debug the truck. Mostly it's suspension adjustments, although we sheared a steering box off during our last race which took out a few oil cooler lines when we called it quits. I'll do up a thread about that trucks build up in a few days. Eventually we'll run it in the Baja 1000. Big K of Justice fucked around with this message at 06:01 on Sep 27, 2008 |
