Tbh eve bet guys were cool as hell. They were chill beer drinkers at the ATL meets and me and foehammer were high as gently caress at one and I got them to give me 2 500m isk codes like 5 different times. Finally one figured it out but wasn't even mad and was like "i mean gj dude lol its shocking more people don't try that" to which I asked "and it worth another for having the balls to do it" and he slipped me another. I am very happy with the fact that them and EOH were 2 of the casinos not implicated in this because those are the only ones I used and enjoyed. Also when I learned that IWI was nothing but micro lotteries I was blown away because holy poo poo that's as much of a stupid tax as goddamn scratch offs are. Edit: CCP guy also realized I'd gotten like 4 pirate newbie ship codes and also didn't care but didn't give me another one so gently caress that guy.

EVE-Bet always operated above board from what I saw and dealt with. Unlike the other sites who would be super flakey about stuff or try to obfuscate details which were some pretty big warnings like when they tried to hire me to make some video I ended up turning down. Like I said on the discord, it's pretty lame EVE-Bet & EOH got affected when they never did anything wrong like IWI etc. all did, which in turn affects stuff like the EVE_NT tournaments (mostly via covering payouts) but overall its for the better and people like EVE_NT et al will find a different way to fund their activities and such so its just an "adapt or die" situation. Yeah that's the plan basically, Nashh is working on setting up a system for donations for in-game money. We talked about setting up a Patreon but shot it down because people would likely flip the gently caress out incessantly about RMT etc. so we'd rather not go near that sort of stuff. The only problem I see for the direct donation system is that you may have issues where people just don't want to compete if the prize pool is too low (you see it in minor league tournaments in say Dota). So for example say the prize pool for Championship only reaches 10billion, and Tuskers & PL pull out because "not enough money to make it worthwhile" then you're sort of boned because the tournament is less interesting than it was with them involved as teams. Though to be fair, for Championship tournaments CCP have been pretty cool and given limited edition ship skins for us to use as part of our payout system. It's for the other events such as Theomachy, EVE NT Cruiser League (see below), etc. that we don't have those skins for that are going to be tricky to fund or incentivize teams to participate in. I don't know how much it is for EVE_NT Championship (our main tournament series) but I know for ECL (an 8 team 2v2 tournament I want to run in January-ish as a way to fill the gap between our Fall & Spring Championship seasons) I'm eyeballing 10 billion ISK for the total prizepool. I already spoke to some people so we should be fine for money. If not I'll donate the 10 billion ISK myself at the last minute to ensure there's a prizepool. I know the whole "I will get my lawyers involved" stance happens a lot when players feel aggrieved by games, however when they say broke USA law, does that matter when CCP is not an American company? I've always wondered this sort of thing.
