Man, Hussie should really release more snoutpacks, that seems to be spurring interest more than anything else by a wide margin. We're going to hit the next stretch goal before we even know what it actually is at this rate.

What are you guys thinking is at $1.1 mil? XBLA support? iOS/Droid support? Another reward perk?

I had thought it said that 700,000 is game funding, 700,000-1,000,000 is improvements of the "more platforms, more languages" variety, and 1,000,000+ is "just adding to the game's production values". Since he can't know what those values will be or what the game will involve yet, I imagine the remaining stretch goals will have to be interesting rewards for the backers.

I remember the Order of the Stick guy put in some stuff like "If we reach X I'll do a week straight of updates" since he normally updates much slower, or "If we reach Y I'll do a special side story for backers". Maybe Hussie can make some similar promises about additions to the comic or more story content if certain milestones are met?

Oh and someone took the idea of "make a $10,000 reward be making a ship canon" and made it sound even more profitable - release the Shipak, for a hundred bucks, where you get the game and a vote. All higher reward tiers get a vote too. At the end of the kickstarter Hussie releases a poll with the various ships the fans on the MSPA forums and tumblr go nuts for and whichever one gets the most votes will be canon.

I mean it'd be terrible and feed into the worst parts of the fandom but it'd also result in metric gently caress-tons of money.

Dumb request, but it's outside my meager skills: is there anyone out there that could someone take my current avatar and have it flash infrequently to a panel of Kankri for a second or two? I can throw a gift cert or something your way if need be.

The bum pledge risk is part of the reason Hussie won't know what sort of budget he could really offer potential developers until *after* the kickstarter. Are there any stats on what the usual rate of reneging on pledges is for kickstarter?

Sadly, Andrew Hussie isn't a video game developer, and I can understand why just pleading to the comsos "hey who wants to make my video game?" is probably not going to generate that many favorable responses. It's probably just not a fair comparisons to the Wasteland 2's and Double Fine Adventures of the world. If so, a lot of slowdown and most of the big jumps in contributions coming from reward perks is what we can probably expect.

Nothing prevents you from actually making several Kickstarter accounts (all you need is several distinct email addresses; not exactly impossible) and then to buy different tiers with each account.

You know what I just realized? Serenity's now with the Alpha kids. What if that actually wasn't an accident? What if Rose knew something like this was going to happen, and sent her along to relay a message to the B2 kids telling them what's going on and to get ready? I imagine at least one of them can understand Morse code, if none of the four then most likely AR.

I don't see a prohibition on registering multiple accounts in the KS terms of use, and I remember during the OOTS kickstarter a lot of commenters were saying that they had done just that.

In a nutshell, serenity is calliope.

Let's face it, weirder fan theories than this one have ended up being bizarrely correct.

It's really hard to have stretch goals when there's nothing really concrete known about the game yet. Wasteland 2's were amazing! "Gonna bring in Chris Avellone!" "More art assets!" "Mod kit support!" It was a lot of fun seeing the game get bigger and better. We can't really do that with this without knowing a lot more about the game itself, which is impossible.

What?

The SLICKPAK is $130 and the cheapest tier that has a physical copy of the game is $80. I'd end up spending $210 and still missing out on the kickstarter print, whereas my other option would be to spend $330 and get two other packs that I don't care for.

I'm in the same boat. Since there's no limit on the SLICKPAK, I'm going to wait and see if any of the other tiers get sweetened before I decide. Still three weeks to go.

Oh, and today's SNOUTPAK release really gave the kickstarter a kick in the pants:
