I can't ride with my toes on my pegs because if I relax my heel it rests on the exhaust and would melt my boot Lowered pegs actually make riding on toes during turns a necessity too because otherwise I drag my boot on the ground.

Well he spun a tale I have trouble picturing for the kind of turn it was. I think he thought he was too fast and target fixated off the road. It was a pretty significant ditch just off the road and flat grass after, I think the bike sunk into the gross muck in the ditch and he went over the bars. He talked about sliding on his stomach for a while too so I dunno what to think. He was up and trying to push it out by the time I came back and I turned around pretty quick. I was a corner ahead and didn't see it. Also I'm dumb and didn't have my gopro charged. Behind this view is the turn, he went off to the left. From the where the bike is parked above looking back at the turn. Where the grass is real tall is where it's a ditch, it's tough to see from these views. Flat grass before and after, if only he'd hit either of those patches... Also from what he remembered he went off significantly after the turn so it's kinda weird. That's why I'm leaning towards a survival reaction and freezing up and just fixating off the road. http://goo.gl/maps/n7MdL - there's the turn but around http://goo.gl/maps/e6AsY is where he went off. Pretty far past the turn it seems to me nsaP fucked around with this message at 04:49 on Jul 21, 2013 |

Everyone wants to be proud and good but it makes you a lot better, a lot faster, to learn about your mistakes real quick.

So yeah, the Tail of the Dragon actually lives up to expectations. Two passes at US129 and a total of 8 hours and 312 miles on the bike yesterday, further and longer than I've gone before. If it wasn't for being totally sore and bruised from smacking into solid metal paintball bunkers two days before I'd probably be feeling pretty great right now. Aw, he removed his video description. He was blaming the car for engine braking and thus not seeing brake lights. He said the bike is totaled, he's fine, and his next vehicle will be a car. Lesson learned.

That 750 is a drag bike, so its not really setup to ride any kind of long distances. As far as aesthetics, to each there own but I think that bike is way more interesting than a beige sportster. Which is the point of all these bikes, since neither are bikes you can legitimately ride all that much. I mean as far as the sportster goes your legs would be absolutely roasting. That being said I'm sure they are both fairly quick for what they are. I would imagine that a turbo sportster dynos somewhere north of 100 horsepower.

I've always loved that street tracker look the Sportster has, and I've never seen one turboed before. The 750 is pretty cool, and I probably would have seen it if I didn't find out about the show from HD. I'd like to see someone try to actually ride the Sportster on a dirt track, but I know that will never happen.
