It kind of seems weird that Mai is also a good singer and dancer. That's not really the same skillset as acting.

Combine that with any natural talent she might have had and she can at least carry a tune and memorize lyrics.

Well ackshually " nit-picking, but it's actually plot-relevant, since she got forced to do gravure while not even out of middle-school, which is kinda what made eventually her bail out in the first place and triggered her puberty syndrome. So while probably not a dancer per-se, I'm thinking she kept an exercise routine, so she's in good enough form to at least do dancing. Don't know about singing.

Usually it's singers who tend to be naturally gifted actors, considering you're effectively acting up on stage. Within a certain range of characters of course. On the other hand, being good at acting doesn't mean you can carry a tune. Also that pop sound was probably deliberate to represent a space suddenly being occupied by air. Like a balloon. If anything, it's the most scientifically sound thing on this entire drat show.

You can definitely tell that this show and Sakurasou had the same writer, Sakurasou had a pretty similar episode/arc featuring a new character melodramatically shouting their inferiority complex at the highly successful female lead.

I am glad to know that terrifying sound when they turned back wasn't only unsettling to me. Poor Sakuta, he just wants his lovey-dovey time but things keep getting in the way. Bless his single minded dedication to Mai.

Oof this episode was really heavy. I honestly feel so bad for both Sakuta and Kaede. Anxiety of this magnitude really takes its toll not only on the victim, but the family too. Good for Kaede to make such clear goals and for putting in the effort to accomplish them. It's really hard to get over that kind of trauma but she's really trying and it's nice to see Mai and her sister there to support her as well. Mai continues to be perfect wife material and the two of them continue to be the best couple of the season.  You can say that again.  I was looking forward to the new arc! When I saw that the name of this episode was “Kaede Quest” and how motivated Kaede was in the preview, I knew it was gonna be good. Didn’t expect the rollercoaster of emotions throughout the episode though. It was really inspiring to see how the show portrayed Kaede trying to manage her anxiety disorder — emphasizing small, manageable steps and goals with a strong support network to back her up. Also, geez, Mai and Sakuta’s relationship is seriously the best. They’re all so cute and supportive of each other, and I’m glad there was no unnecessary drama regarding the boyfriend reveal. Also echoing the appreciation for how the other characters don’t simply disappear once their arcs are finished. The natural interactions between the whole cast is so good, you guys. I admit to tearing up a little bit when she took her first steps outside and both siblings started crying. They’ve went through so much. You did good, Kaede. You did good.

One example would be K-Pop “news scandals” about celebrity dating. The press conference seemed to be about the movie release as a whole, but yeah, still a gross practice to intrude on private life like that! At least it didn’t turn out badly in the show.
