Can anybody inform me of where to waste $400 dollars on a tablet that's not the iPad? I don't want to give Crapple my year long savings of $500. I have to buy a Samsung Edge Max Prime w/ HD tweeter later, duh!

B&H Photo Video has the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 in various sizes, and the 7.0 is under $150, with free shipping, and no tax if you live outside New York State. It's pretty sweet, for an Android tablet. Although Samsung has a fetish for putting the back and app switch buttons backwards from reference Android devices, lol.

I use my Samsung Tablet in class all the time. It allows me to walk around the classroom and control my Promethean board, I can also use lots of apps which allow me interact with my students and monitor their progress. (Yes, I an just talk to them, but I can also have them submit documents and other things to me, I can edit/grade them and have them back by the end of the day.) All of my students have chromebooks, and I can push out data and websites using my tablet. Also, Pandora and Minecraft.

I watch TV and poo poo on my hammock. I use it to RDP into work when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. The screen is big enough that I can read the forums without having to worry about an image being posted that isn't using timg. I use it for weather updates and maps and all sorts of poo poo. JRemote controls my audio throughout the house. I dunno, I use it a lot.

^^ it's stuff like that that let the pc and Microsoft completely dominate Mac eventually, and they just aren't doing ANYTHING it's so weird. Even with android as a stiff competitor apple is just raking money in, and nobody is approaching the kind of standardization that might make portable devices less expensive or broaden their user base. It's all still apple style high end product for $650+ It's like everyone is driving a porche or a mercades and no one is making a Toyota

The thread in the Inspect Your Gadgets forum for tablets a few years ago was hilarious. "Why don't iPads have multiple user accounts you can switch between" "YOU loving RETARD! iPads are for PERSONAL use - why would you need multiple user accounts on a PERSONAL device?" And then Android implemented multiple user accounts soon after and no one buys iPads anymore.

I have an iPad and I use it a lot. Sometimes I want to watch something in bed when my wife is asleep. I like that ppl can't imagine a use case where you have a person sleeping in bed with you that isn't a dorm room though

the thing my company makes runs 100% on ipads that sync their data back to our backend and makes them available to their SAP/SalesForce/whatever they use via JSON API's and people seem pretty happy about it. no MDM or whatever needed, the idevices never need to even access the company network. its cool because otherwise we would have to train retarded IT staff for every single customer and now we just hand their devs the API docs and be done with it.

someone a lot cooler and busier than me could probably find some good uses for a tablet but I was amazed at how quickly I lost interest in the one I borrowed for a few days garageband was fun for about 15 minutes I guess
