HDTGM is great for the first 100 or so eps, but really loving sucks lately.

WHM is more consistent in that the host is almost never funny but does an acceptable job of driving the show. The other guys, especially Stephen can be hilarious. The part in Rocky 4 where he's talking about the crowd and how awful Americans can be makes me laugh thinking about it even now, pointing and laughing at Apollo... "we're gonna kick yo rear end tonight, we're all gonna live forever!"

I started listening to Dollop based on this thread and I love it, goddamn Gareth is a funny guy.

I'm quite picky about podcasts, and so far haven't found many American podcasts that I like. I tried My Brother My Brother and Me and just found it incredibly boring. Dollop is ok though.

Mainly I listen (and I'm quickly running out of) British comedy podcasts:

Flatshare Slamdown https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/flatshare_slamdown/
Do The Right Thing https://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/dotherightthing/

What’s that bbc show that was called Adam and Joe or something like that but it ended when one of them got famous in the US? I’ve been meaning to check it out.

I’d like to listen to more British podcasts but there don’t seem to be many funny ones,
I just figured that was because there isn’t much of a standup scene there afaik.

I mostly listen to British lectures to fall asleep.

The Adam and Joe Show, yeah. Adam from that show hosts The Adam Buxton Podcast. Also it was on Channel 4, and not BBC, to be pedantic.

There is a large stand up scene in the UK, and indeed funny British podcasts. Two of the podcasts I linked above, Do the Right Thing, and Flatshare Slamdown are in a panel show format where they invite comedians, so that's how I discovered a lot of UK based stand up comedians.

“When diplomacy fails” is great. Early episodes are rough but some of them have been remade. The podcast is exactly what it sounds like, looking into the politics and diplomatic side of historical conflicts.

“History of Byzantium” I can recommend for history of Rome fans that are interested in the history of the eastern Roman Empire.

“Tetrapod zoology podcast” is great if you’re into vertebrate zoology.

Doughboys - Best podcast. Legit believe Nick Wiger is one of the funniest people in the world. Hopefully I'll catch him on his Costco shift someday.

He has a particular brand of humor that has a very narrow area of appeal. If you are in that area though, it is like the funniest poo poo ever. His awful but earnest parody songs are a great example of that. I also want to mention his most Wiger-ist joke/reference: Sheltem from Might and Magic. IIRC they were coming up with aliens for something, and he brings up Sheltem. The other co host (Mike Mitchell) is just like "What in the gently caress is a sheltem" and he has to explain it and even after explaining it everyone on the ep is like what the gently caress, but I was laughing for a minute straight. He also has a callback joke he's done like 2 or 3 times about Lakitu from super mario. He is a Robot, but he can suck his own dick.

The 4/20 episode where he smokes weed for the first time in two decades is quite good. Its an episode with Jon Gabrus in it, and is a solid starting point for the show if you haven't listened before.
EDIT: last year's 4/20 show was a chicken nugger power hour. Brilliant.

Same here. I tried Legion of Renob, but it sounds like they have two microphones for 5-6 people, and the DM can't get through a sentence without laughing like a overly stoned teenager.

There's dozens of D&D podcasts out there but I can't be bothered to listen a bunch of crappy episodes just to find an "okay" one.

I'm more into the True Crime stuff, but like some random poo poo sprinkled in there, so Timesuck with Dan Cummins is loving awesome for me. Not only is it pretty in-depth, but it's only about 90 minutes long and Cummins is hilarious. I loved his stand-up, and this is one I listen to as soon as it comes out every week.

So my list is:

Timesuck
Small Town Murder
Crime in Sports

Really I would like to expand that list though. I'm almost done burning through the back logs of Small Town Murder and Crime in Sports. I will have nothing to listen to in front of my computer screen all day. I'll have to actually converse with my co workers. gently caress
