Even in the anime, the tales of ghost boy went on for a bit longer than I probably would have preferred, but now that I'm past it I'm legitimately enjoying everything being "Reikai [this]" or "Reikai [that]". Where I am right now, some burglars are breaking into the "Great Treasure Hall of the Spirit Realm" (Reikai Daiji Shokan... Spirit World Important-library) which is completely on-the-nose, but in a hilarious way. Yeah, I know that every other comedy anime has parodied this in some way or another ("Uchuu CQC!"), but I'm having a grand time watching one of the shows that prompted those sorts of parodies. Some weirdness with the official subs that distracted me. When the voice actors were clearly saying "Enma" (presumably Japanese pronunciation of a Chinese word) in ep 2, the subs kept saying "Yama". But as far as Koenma is concerned, they just left him as "Koenma Jr." from the very beginning. I mean, it's an interesting question... if Western Buddhists use the proper Chinese pronunciation, but a show pronounces it differently, but it's a proper name... what's the least disrespectful way to translate it?
