It's been a while since I've had something worth sharing, but this guy was dumb enough to make me pull my SD card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOz9j2aCPLc Aside from the fact that I had green arrows as you can see in the video, there's actually no legal way to make the move he made regardless of the lights.  Red is the truck/trailer, blue is me. As you can see, he was coming off I-71 and was required to turn. There is no legal straight across route. When I passed him he was gesturing at me like I was in the wrong too. He seemed to try to chase me for a bit but I'm not really sure about that since I pulled away pretty quickly. I'm guessing he wasn't paying attention, saw green arrows for turning and then just plowed ahead.

Gotta love "it's okay to be correct and dead" bikers. We both turn left through an intersection, I turn into left lane and shortly after signal to shift to the right lane. He goes straight into right lane and completely ignores my blinker and creeps up to my blind spot. The initial gap was big enough that most people would have changed lanes but I could tell dude had no intention of slowing so I waited for him to roll his badass self past me. If I had been a less attentive driver he could have easily had his rear end smeared down the road. He was wearing a "ride or die" toque.

Had a guy who pulled out in front of me from the curb without signaling. He later ran through a stop sign behind me and nearly crashed his car while making a left turn.

God stop signs in my city are a huge waste. I am the person you share the road with. On a trip I make often, there are multiple stop signs along a major 4-lane boulevard, where it intersects with very small side streets (in some cases one-way side streets). There is almost never any traffic entering or exiting the side streets, and there is 100% visibility. I roll those stop signs almost every time. God they suck. I'm going to get a ticket one day and none of my stupid posturing will be worth it. Stop sign tickets are moving violations and can affect insurance rates right? Ugh.

I'm cruising home in the shop truck today in the right hand lane of The Skyway, going about sixty (five over the limit). It's right at five PM, so both lanes are pretty packed. A lane splitting motorcycle doing about seventy suddenly flashes by on my left, giving me an Oh poo poo moment. Illegal, dumb, and goddammit, he made me jump.

So the person in my apartment complex who has one with a picture of a sports bike had a relative who died in a motorcycle accident, and the relative of the guy with the anchor drowned while boating.

Oh yeah, not only is the big concrete slab ruined, I'm pretty sure those axles are at least damaged and as specialist equipment those can't be cheap. Add in the delay in construction of making a replacement that's one expensive mistake.

Got a threefer in about as many minutes. Two people backing out of parking spaces hit each other, I got cut off pretty bad some someone ran a stop sign despite my being partway into their lane after having stopped (same parking lot), who then told me that it was okay because they wouldn't be arrested unless they hit a pedestrian. On the way out of said parking lot, someone turning left directly into the farthest lane almost collided with a guy who was turning right onto the same street, also into the farthest lane. And yes, those stop signs aren't legally binding, but as I had already stopped and then proceeded, I sure as poo poo would hope they would have been found at fault. e: I mean, I loving hope that "Will I get arrest for this?" isn't her main criteria when driving, although from the look of her car it could very well have been. sleepy.eyes fucked around with this message at 20:10 on Oct 26, 2017 |
