The other thing about gang tags: Make sure the gang tag *is a clickable link back to the dwarf fortress thread* Overall I prefer no text but clickable. What's this? It seems ambiguous! I will click! Maybe compromise and just have a little fixed yellow text "Strike The Earth" Off in the left? Might have to cut off a tiny amount of the blue cave wall.

I have a personal policy to really try to not re-worldgen because of the many times I spent more time doing that than actually starting and playing any fort. Especially since I was hunting for "perfect" sites, which really just make the game easier and less exciting.

I think at $30 it will probably end up in that zone, but they have a power of the discount. I think a ten dollar Dwarf Fortress would move Undertale numbers. But they deserve their piece of the pie. Not everyone can be Toby Fox, moving up to the fancy spaghetti on the back of their cartoon game.

I think there's definitely potential here for a minecraft style megahit. It could also stay in the ghetto of cult games. I'd be really curious to know how many people have downloaded it over the years.

I haven't been this excited about a game release in years It's also been so long since I played, I kinda forgot all the set-ups I preferred back then. Plus back then it was a way to balance the game for myself, having the wrestle the UI and all was enough of a hassle I didn't want to add super hard or risky gameplay into the mix. But then I had too many forts I got bored of, they went to smoothly and I was just killing time re-sculpting rooms and hallways n stuff while time passed without much else going on. This time I wanna settle somewhere rucked-up and do my best to not die, if I thrive I wanna earn it with dorfs, not clever map surveying.

I think there are a lot of players like myself, played it on and off over the years but never gotten very far into it. I absolutely love the game and hope to really deep dive in with this release.

RimWorld is probably in the 2-3 million copies sold area. I guess I could see this doing better or worse than that but I can’t imagine it’d be drastically so. Maybe to the downside since people can just play it for $0.

There's some visual noise animated in the rock that could easily be removed by keeping that part of the animation frozen.

It's likely something funky with using ezgif website to split the gif into separate frames and then put it back together. I start from Yoopers original gif.
