Memento posted:Really? Because the first one of those was demonstrated last year. Like Sagebrush said, the exit beam was white but the source was 2 or 3 other colours. Argon is already blue/green so you add a Helium-neon or a Krypton and you're done. However, I never saw the white one he had so I couldn't tell you what the exact mix was. The only thing I know about it is that he was doing some projection with it for a business and it all went blurry when the heat started melting the mirrors. I like the montages that are a spoof of the end of each episode of Jojos bizarre adventure with the "TO BE CONTINUED" sign. Each one freeze framed mid-animal bite/fireball explosion while the victim makes a face.

Last year I was in a bicycle crash. I went over the bars and took a direct head impact. I woke up as they were loading me into the ambulance. Looking back at the day or so after the crash, I felt normal at the time but I clearly wasn't quite entirely there, in hindsight. My brain was still rebooting. When I went back to work the next week, I asked my co-workers to please tell me if I seemed... diminished. Or even just different, in a Regarding Henry sort of way. (It turned out I was fine in the long run. Or at least, if I've been rendered newly retarded, no one has had the guts to tell me so.) Although it turned out okay in the end, that concussion was one of the top ten significant events in my life. Just by eyeballing this video, her head impact was as bad or worse than mine. And I was wearing a bike helmet, and so I had an inch of styrofoam around my skull that absorbed a big chunk of the impact energy. I hope she's okay.

I mean, I'm 100% feeling the schadenfreude here. Person has an, I assume, filly occupied duplex and doesn't use the rent money to pay their mortgage. This results in the duplex being foreclosed by the bank. Guess they shouldn't have squandered the rent money. If it wasn't being rented than you are up poo poo creek and need to not have an unrented duplex as your primary source of income. Common since applies. The part I don't get is how this is Trump's fault. At no point was this bank in the wrong so blaming the bank co-owner is childish. And blaming Trump for choosing the bank's co-owner as Treasury Secretary is some strong mental gymnastics with a heavy dose of denial.

There's not much shadenfreude when Trump appoints a bunch of lobbyists/wall street bankers/dickheads, because the people who believed he was going to clean up Washington either don't learn about it, or they never actually gave a poo poo about cleaning up Washington in the first place.

I mean it's not like anyone actually has any personal stake in what happens at the high echelons of political office or of business. It's all very abstract, and people side one way or the other purely on the basis of which side tells a better feel-good story. Until suddenly some part of it is personal, at which point they'll believe super hard in whichever side they think vindicates them more, logical or not. It's my favorite Futurama line: "I'm rich! Suddenly I have an opinion about the capital gains tax!"
