It's not Dexy's either. I have all of their CDs and I know it's not them.

Here are some more specifics.

The beat is very basic. A lot of the times the song goes back into the main hook, the snare does a fill that's all the sixteenth notes. Don't really remember the bass part.

Also, let me sort of structure the repeating hook part. First, there are four different parts. Each part is two measures long. I think I remember the chord structure well enough.

1. IV I
2. IV I
3. IV I
4. V V

Again, I think those are the right chords. Maybe more telling is that I think it is in C. So it ranges from a lower G major to a high F major.

The song just crept back to me in a dream. The last time I heard it was probably earlier this year. And I can give you chords and poo poo because I'm pretty good at remembering such things, but definitely not words.

And maybe it's not mainstream pop, but indie pop. I really don't know, but I have definitely heard it out and about before.

Can't identify it, but my wife and I are both convinced it's from a movie we've seen. Can't remember the movie either, though. :(

Yesterday I heard a song (at Starbucks if that helps at all) and a song came on with a male singer repeating something really softly that sounds like "All I('ll) do is make you, make you (blue?)". There was an instrumental bridge for a while and again later on except with horns or something. It was really pretty and melancholy sounding. Thanks very much!

Female vocalist (or at least sounds like one), starts off with soft vocals with at least one crescendo and decrescendo in both volume and harshness.

It's probably "rock" in some form. This song has been bugging me for months. I'm sure it placed somewhere on the Billboard charts for Rock but they don't just have them all online anymore :argh:

You may have heard it as the theme tune to The Apprentice (the UK version). It's called 'Dance of the Knights' (also apparently known as 'Montagues and Capulets', taken from Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev.

OK, I've got a weird one; I'm looking for a mariachi song, specifically the one from the 1986 Movie "Three Amigos". This is the music that plays during El Guapo's birthday party;
