Renault engine development has stagnated and they still have reliability problems. Honda, meanwhile, are improving, having started from scratch again. Renault are back in as a team themselves, so Red Bull aren't the defacto Renault works team anymore. Thing is, if the Honda improves enough that Red Bull want it, McLaren won't drop it.
