Sinn Bodhi/Kizarny responds to WWE.com's article yesterday calling him/his run in WWE a turkey. He's a well-spoken dude who seems to really love what he does. Glad things are going well for him on the indie scene, but he did get a pretty raw deal in WWE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOek4-FC4ak It is kind of a rough article on the site. It even rips into Michael Cole as the #7 turkey for "once being a respected sports-entertainment analyst", but turning into "Bobby Heenan without the sense of humor". So apparently I'm missing out big by not seeing Daniel Bryan's RoH work and such. So, since I only know him as 'the dude who has a couple of neat matches but mostly gets squashed' in WWE, can someone provide me with some of his more classic matches? I really do like submission dudes and all and I want to like him just given how pumped so many people are for him, I just have zero frame of reference other then WWE for the dude.

His best ROH match to watch given his current standing in WWE would be Bryan Danielson vs Takeshi Morishima from ROH Manhattan Mayhem II. All of their rematches are gold as well, especially their Fight Without Honor blowoff. It is a classic series of Underdog vs Monster matches. His other classic ROH matches are: Vs Nigel McGuinness at Unified and Driven Vs KENTA at Glory By Honor V Night 2 Vs Paul London at the Epic Encounter Vs Chris Daniels and Low Ki at the Era of Honor Begins Vs Homicide at Final Battle 2006 Vs Roderick Strong at Vendetta and Supercard of Honor Vs Samoa Joe at Midnight Express Reunion and Fight of the Century There are more but those really stand out.

I will always always always say the Morishima Matches and the Nigel matches are your best bet. vs. Nigel at Driven and vs. Morishima at Manhattan Mayhem II are 2 of my absolute FAVORITE matches of the last decade. The Morishima one is actually probably my favorite match ever, as seeing it live the crowd was just so insanely electric in a way the DVD just didn't capture. The Nigel one also has a really hot crowd where they did a much better job of capturing how into the match the crowd was. They love both guys and it's got the first ever use of the "this is wrestling" chant that TNA fans loooooooooove to chant nowadays at any match. Unified (Nigel/Danielson) and Glory by Honor V Night 2 (Nigel/Marufuji and Danielson/KENTA) were what hooked me on ROH from that time. In hindsight, the Unified match falls a little flat because of the post spot (plus the UK crowd kinda shits on the ending), but it was still a great match. And then they topped it with the Driven match.

I thought their Best of 5 series mostly stunk (except the cage match and the 100 rotation airplane spin) but I liked their first match in 2004, their match at Destiny and loved the Final Battle match. They don't exactly have chemistry, but they make it work with the right story.

He also did a 60 minute draw with Colt Cabana after tearing his shoulder like 12 minutes in. It was more a testament to Colt Cabana's ability to basically wrestle a match by himself, but still. The KENTA match from Glory by Honor happened the month after and Danielson was basically working through that injury while KENTA kicked him really hard in the shoulder a lot because KENTA is Japanese and kicks really hard. And yeah, if you take Bryan's WWE stuff in isolation, especially this year (his stuff last year with Miz & Ziggler was real good), he's pretty much a solid midcarder booked mostly like a lame jobber. So no one can really fault you for not thinking otherwise.

It includes one of the funniest spots I've ever seen where, if I remember it right, Hirota's trying to get out of a wristlock or hammerlock or something to that effect and in doing so her and Ozaki wind up dancing which leads to them and the ref doing the spin/jump spot. Except Hirota and Ozaki stop right after the spin leaving the ref to do the jump on his own and then he walks around the ring/outside looking sheepish while Hirota and Ozaki look like they're about to piss themselves from laughter. Also random Hirota because there's never a bad time for Sakura Hirota. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rj38cpVmhEE
