Pointless now but McCullum actually could have gotten the century: McCullum is 77. NZ need 19. If he hits four sixes and takes no other runs, he gets the hundred

Lot to like about how new Zealand play it. Like the killer instinct. England are absolutely awful but they are just hammering them. Non of the buffoonish laziness like Australia served up after the game was won. New Zealand understand its a tournament where run rate might matter.

The break worked well for Scotland. A top flight side like England should be able to make better use of it.

Yeah, gently caress this noise. I'm going to bed. Not waiting 40 loving minutes to watch two more overs. Why can't the match referee just say play on?

Pvt. Public posted:Yeah, gently caress this noise. I'm going to bed. Not waiting 40 loving minutes to watch two more overs. Why can't the match referee just say play on? Welcome to cricket, the game of rules pedantry. In my league, we're not allowed to pull up stumps until 5pm, even if you get a result at 3pm. This means either the batting side continues to bat past the score, or the fielding side goes in for a pointless second innings.
