I started playing Nier in earnest tonight, the combat is kinda stiff and regular encounters are fairly boring but the first real boss fight was cool, and the game clicked with me when it showed a tool tip that said: BOAR CONTROLS O Mount X Dash L2/R2 Drift

I love Shadow Hearts and I will be forever disappointed that there will be never another new game. Nier is also really great and I happy that its getting a sequel.

there was a cool jrpg on the original ds that was about collecting keywords from monsters, people and objects and rearranging them in a magical book i think it was from the harvest moon guy

Except for how you could never keep track of what keywords were anywhere.

yeah, the time has passed. honestly, i'm surprised what you described doesn't already exist. my friend and his brother have a trapper keeper from 199X or 200X (i can't remember) that contains a master list of what each CD they could get their hands on created. they are awesome, like master scholars of monster rancher
