Also unsure if my partner has to do anything - she's Irish so that would remove the need for her to register, but I'm here on her EU status and blaaaaah this is complicated. For info, she's Irish and I'm a kiwi. Depending on the exact details you should be fine until 2022 as Irish is not treated the same as other EU Nationalities thanks to the Common travel area. If you are on the 5 year visa expiring in 2022 you should be able to apply for ILR at the end of it. However nobody really loving knows because this whole thing is a poorly managed shitshow. People loving hate Brexit, and it's 100% the fault of the Tories - they started it, they were presiding over its deal negotiations, and they were the ones who completely poo poo the bed in sorting it out.

I imagine they have fire extinguishers close at hand inside all parts of the Palace of Westminster in case it burns down because all of the wiring is from the 30s and there's red hot steam pipes and sawdust and detritus everywhere and the one thing that MPs will fund is sticking plaster solutions for MPs not burning to death.

Tories used to at least do something for their money sometimes, but the new crowd are nouveau riches for whom the money and privilege has always been there and as a result they don't understand where it came from. They don't understand that before gathering as much as you can you have an obligation to ensure that everyone has enough. And that all comes from Thatcher.
