With a controller I feel like I need to keep pressing the aim stick upward constantly. Your reticle moves way less than mine. (More end game spoilers) Near the end of his story, you get a note on his table from his wife, telling him to call her if he thinks they can still work this out. If you then use his phone instead of his typewriter, during the ending sequence he's dining with his family at the table. At least I assume, I've only seen the dining with his family version.

Overall I feel this game had too much getting killed by enemies you couldn't see, sometimes through windows. My strategy in a lot of the levels was get as close to unseen open areas as I could, fire a gun, and see what comes out, because if I didn't I'd get shot by something outside my view. I can't remember the first one doing it this much, and therefore it was better in that one aspect.

The level before this with Richter every enemy surrounding the stairs had a gun, with two or three more guys behind a window also looking right at the stairs. Move forward and die, probably. I know Alex and Ash get all the love but god drat Tony is loving fun. Not being able to pick up weapons really alters your approach. I guess it's kind of sucky how The Son only gets gimmicks that are identical to the Fans, but I guess his dad and his cronies did them all first so I guess the Fans are ripping him off.

It would have been at least neat to play the coup d'état instead of SUDDENLY NUKES. I get the whole reasoning behind it but it still rubs me the wrong way. Also who's the guy in the desert that Biker is soo afraid of?! It would be pretty poo poo for the devs to leave something like that hanging and never resolve it. Biker was probably scared of Richard. Honestly the way I would have liked it to end would have been saying there was a coup and war was imminent and then cutting it off. Really, I'd have liked it if none of the protagonists were shown on screen as dying, letting you wonder about it a little. Like end Withdrawal with Jake being dragged away, Deathwish with Alex and Ash wondering where their friends were, Apocalypse with the Son walking towards the edge of the screen, etc. Nukes weren't sudden though. RBA Starblade posted:HLM1's point is you shouldn't feel bad about whatever's happening because it's not real. Ignore the right image but the left one was never used ingame. Interesting. http://b.thumbs.redditmedia.com/EXx0n6ovOarONrkV8NDVjU8515NTPJ6DSJGheeFog2Y.jpg My guess is it's an old version of The Abyss' art. More ending words: I feel like it sort of contradicts it's own point. "Enjoy the good times while they last, and when the end comes, accept it without regret." But by ending everything on screen with such finality it's more like "Here's the end. You don't like it. You'll eventually accept it." I mean maybe that's the point but I feel it weakens it and the game isn't so great it can afford to weaken itself further. Cuntellectual fucked around with this message at 02:55 on Mar 14, 2015 |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdDL5D1hi9o I like how that one guy never budges at all despite all his friends being horribly blown away. Also thought I was done for when the second to last guy's bullet clipped me. Bummed shadowplay didn't save the first floor Also god drat the weapon pickup poo poo is annoying as gently caress. I can't count the amount of times I've died because I attempted some John Woo poo poo and in the split second when I need to pick up a gun to shoot the guy coming at me it picks up a bat or an empty one and I get hammered.

You can speed it up a bit though if you rush and punch the dog at 0:04/0:34. I'm not sure whether it's due to the dog being in a turning animation, the angle of attack next to a wall or what, but 90% of the time it let me skip the slam animation for an instant melee kill, making it a lot quicker and less risky to take down.

So I was a pussy and looked up the ending. In the first mission of act 5, After beard gets nuked, when you control Richter, go upstairs before answering the phone. Talk to his mom laying in bed. I'm at what I'm guessing is the end of the game, the double-swan. How do I win? I figured out to stay far back so the one head doesn't bullet hell me to death and to whack the chainsaw head when it comes in, but there's no feedback for anything. Am I actually hurting it? Four swings didn't do anything. e: Never mind, like everything else it's buggy as gently caress. I got something to happen after typing this.
