i like how british people think those dreams about breaking all your teeth or all your teeth falling out or crunching up your teeth like rock candy are "lucky"

Dixie Cretin Seaman posted:speaking of (supposedly) common dreams, has anyone itt ever dreamed of their teeth falling out? its supposed to be an archtypical dream but ive never had it or heard of anyone having it yeah, I get these dreams once in a while. they're the closest thing to a nightmare I get, but it's not exactly scary, it's more of an "oh no, my teeth are rotting and falling out. how did I not notice this sooner? drat it, I don't have the money to do anything about this" irl my teeth are in pretty good shape, I've never had any fillings. i had my wisdom teeth pulled a few years back, but it was a fairly pleasant experience, and i had the tooth dreams long before then.

tooth dreams are universally common, yeah. Jung said they represented life changes, and specifically death also I've had so many dreams about forgetting a class until exam week, and they're always so realistic, that I honestly can't remember if it once happened to me or not. I don't think it did, but the memories are so clear

i had a dream a co-worker died and i felt unbearably sad and even was like, THIS IS JUST A DREAM, but then the entire workplace had a funeral cementing how real this was

fishmech posted:does worrying about having your fillings and crowns fall out/off count because i've had that since i had the real thing happen several times and that sucked hard no, most shrinks believe that concerns specifically about broken dental work are a different category, and usually indicates a subconscious recognition that the subject is annoyingly pedantic
