As long as you have the XP for one of them on hand before the funeral, just save that until you need it. - The game teaches you about Kiwami heat moves in the tutorial. You're gonna have to unlock those once the game properly starts, they're Essence of Extreme Beast/Brawler/Rush on the Soul board. You don't need them all ASAP, but if you don't take Rush to the funeral you'll probably kick yourself.

Use your consumables as soon as you think you need them. The last time I played the game (which was one version ago), the worst consequence was that I ended up not having the resources to do all of the optional areas I wanted, but I had no problem actually beating the game. Identify scrolls by reading unidentified scrolls on a floor where you've cleared out the enemies, use scrolls of identify to identify potions unless you think it's a matter of life or death. Pressing CTRL+F lets you search for any items on the ground, and you can enter vague categories like "mace" or "armor".

So the page for Nioh says spread early stat points around because the bonuses are front loaded. I'm at 10 in each stat now, is it a good time to start focusing on my two weapon stats or should I keep spreading things around for a while?

I'm at 10 in each stat now, is it a good time to start focusing on my two weapon stats or should I keep spreading things around for a while? I'd suggest maybe at most pumping your primary weapon stat to twenty-ish or so, since there's no minimum stat requirement for weapons or armor. The rest, pump into the health stat, the stamina stat and finally Spirit, because spirit has to be at at least 25 to get the maximum benefits and bonuses out of every possible guardian spirit you can equip. Otherwise, it's really mostly a wash. The game primarily rewards player skill and gear, everything else is kinda optional.

There's no minimum stat to use weapons or armor, but armor DOES have (fairly low) stat requirements to get the stat bonuses on it to actually activate. So you should probably get those stats high enough to activate the bonuses on whatever armor class you're using. Each armor type has two stats it uses, and any given armor of that class will require those two stats for its activation. So I'd beeline those up to the minimum early (which are generally sub-20 from memory) and then use your stats on whatever you want. Also respecs are fairly easy to get a few of, so, you know, try some stuff if you wonder what will work.

For example: The Daughters of Artemis give you a series of quests to hunt down legendary beasts. You can complete all of them at level 40+, but wait for 50 to hand in the last pelt. Otherwise they'll be at the level at which you obtained the last piece, and you would have to manually upgrade them. If you really care about min-maxing it is probably better to look at high level purples, because having that fourth slot on an item for an engravement can be more valueable than a set bonus.

They're pricey to upgrade on their own so you should instead just equip and engrave random Epic gear you find along the way, maybe only updating 1-2 legendaries that are really really good. They can't be DE'd and you have unlimited storage space on your own person so don't stick them in the item box on the ship until you've found the whole set.

Lizard Wizard posted:Any tips for XCOM 2: War of the Chosen? The next time I play it, I'm going to try going for the first armor upgrade (Plated Armor) before Hybrid Weapons. It's very hard to keep the melee Chosen from getting at least one slice off, so it'd help to make my dudes less vulnerable to being one-shot from it. Plus, when you buy the standard armor upgrade, everyone gets it. You have to upgrade all weapon types separately, and this includes for the new faction hero units. When choosing between two great skills for a promotion, don't stress out about it too much - once you build the Training Center, you'll get to buy the other one with skill points. You won't get enough points to buy all the skills, but getting the great ones plus a couple of cross-class skills is very doae. Even though you can't fail hacking a mission objective, always try to have a Specialist do it - one of the potential objective hacking rewards is a permanent +20 hacking skill boost that stacks if you get it multiple times. Having a guaranteed way to shut down late-game robotic enemies is A Good Thing. Psi-Operatives don't get promotions from kills and missions like your other soldiers, they get them from spending time learning skills in the Psi Lab. So there's no need to drag low-rank Psi units into a difficult mission if they don't yet have enough skills to carry their weight. The Resistance Ring is one of the first facilities you should build - making contact with the resistance factions gives you hero units and monthly bonuses, and the more they like you, the more bonuses you can choose from and apply. The faction hero units range from "pretty good" to "could solo some missions," but can take a few promotions to come into their own. - Templars are very solid as soon as they get Parry, just be careful about revealing more enemy groups by charging into melee. - Reapers are best once you have a squad size increase, since they mostly scout and won't contribute much damage until they get upgraded/extra Claymores and Remote Start. Late-game, they can do hilarious things with an expanded magazine and Banish. Completing mission objectives with a Reaper does break their stealth, so don't get them killed trying to be a smart-rear end. - Skirmishers are decent, but stand out less than the other two. My Lovely Horse posted:Anything for Yakuza Kiwami 2? Well if you haven't played 6 then there's a decent amount of changes due to the new engine. Like better graphics, unlimited inventory, and you don't have to load to go into stores, which brings me to the first tip: * You can draw fights into stores and wreck up the place, which is pretty fun, but then the store will be mad at you for a bit and you won't be able to use it. Luckily it doesn't last long. * Leveling up is different now, there's a bunch of different kinds of XP and you can gain a decent amount from eating food, but you won't gain anything if your stomach is full * There are upgrades to increase the capacity of your stomach (hint, hint) * There's also items to increase digestion, all of this is handy if you're just short of getting a new skill or upgrade that you want * You can pocket weapons you pick up but only during a fight, after it's over they'll still be there on the ground but you won't be able to get them * While regular inventory stacks and scrolls forever the weapons and gear don't, so be mindful of that and don't like pick up every crumby knife you find * There's a lot of Heat moves and skills that seem like they unlock from completing a substory but it's just unlocking the ability to buy it * There are random encounter bosses, after you beat them you can come back to where they were and talk to them and most of them will join Majima Construction once that's available Also the dart mini-game is good now, I didn't like it in previous Yakuza games but it's good now, not really a tip but good to know I think.

My Lovely Horse posted:Anything for Yakuza Kiwami 2? The two things I would add: You know how in other Yakuzas with multiple locations (Zero and 6) you can only move between them when the story allows you to (until the final chapter)? Well, in Kiwami 2 you can get a taxi back and forth basically any time. I was waiting for about 3 chapters to go back and do an activity in one location before I realised that. I kept thinking "Weird they would introduce that to you just before the story moves you away... I must be going back after the next story mission maybe?" for ages until I got a taxi and noticed its on the list of possible locations. Or, to sum it up in a bullet point: - Once you have been to both maps you can move back and forth freely via taxi. You dont need to wait for the story to move you. - When a substory calls for you to fight someone in the arena you can find them by going into a tournament and seeing what fighting styles you will be up against. If theirs isnt there then back out and try again. I found them in a 3 or 4 star tournament, but it seems to be at least semi random.

So you can't just fill up, step outside and get punched once, then eat an entire three-course meal. Also you can get upgrades to your stomach size.

DOUBLE CLICK HERE posted:Anything for Disgaea 5? Off the top of my head - unlock the Cheat Shop early on, use it to adjust things as you want, you get more capacity each chapter. Sage (get Magic Knight to rank 4, Professor to rank 2 - MK is from Fighter rank 2 & Mage rank 3 , Professor is from Gunner and Maid rank 2) is extremely excellent for rear end-blasting through Item World and grinding maps when you get to post-game, but are also pretty strong outside of that niche. Also some of the squads are out and out way better than others - namely Interrogation, Innocent Aid, Hunter and Item Adventure. Other than that the standard sorta Disgaea stuff applies - don't worry too much about equipment until the end-game/post-game, level still matters most.

Couple of things for Do Not Feed the Monkeys. You have Fifteen Days in total per game, it ends after the Level 3 Evaluation. Each run has randomized Cages, don't worry too much about seeing the same lineup twice. Not all Cages are of interest, even if they flag an alert on your screen. Generally you can rule them out if the image quality is subpar, or you can't record footage from them. Most Cages have several conversations over the span of a day. Some Cages have a time limit before they'll fail on their own. You'll generally have a good idea of how, when, and why they'll fail though, it's never arbitrary (For example; the janitor trapped in a lift). Always keep $90 set aside for your Landlady. Keep an eye on your food level, even if you have to just get pizza or a hotdog delivered because you're watching something juicy at the moment. Once you get stomach-rumbling hungry, your health will start constantly ticking down and can drop faster than you think if you ignore it. The -1penalty for eating pizza is better than the constant -1-per-couple-of-seconds slow tick to hospitalization. Some Cages have a second unlockable perspective. These DO count as a separate camera for your totals, and you need to keep a cage slot free for that second camera if you want to close the case.
