i was in the music store the other day and heard a guy playing a lick on the bass that sounded incredibly familiar. i haven't been able to get it out of my head since then, but i can't place where it's from. it sounds like it might be a stanley clarke riff, but i can't think of any songs that sound like it, so who knows. i played a couple bars of it and uploaded it here -- if anybody has any ideas, i'd be real grateful

Does an uncensored version of Jay-Z's "Streets Is Watching" exist? I've downloaded about 10 different .mp3s on P2P networks, I've downloaded it from several different torrent sites, and I just now bought it from the iTunes Store, and the version labeled [EXPLICIT] is definitely still censored. Anybody know what the deal is? The first censored line is: Look, if I shoot you, I'm brainless/But if you shoot me, you're famous, what's a [nigga] to do? Help! e: Apparently an uncensored version doesn't exist, from what I can find. PissFilledCumBubble fucked around with this message at 22:31 on Jan 18, 2009 |

I remember a video for a song that I'd like to identify. In the video we see a surreal setting. There's a guy or a girl dancing with, I believe, an elephant head looking gasmask thing among other things. Very odd, surreal. It's housemusic. Sounded a bit dreamy if I remember correctly. That's all I got, sorry.

I was in a bar and heard a very Weezeresqe song that had a chorus that SEEMED to go: Maaaaandy, I [something], [something unintelligible] followed by a riff. I know this is a really poor clue, but it was a pretty cool song! I've heard it a few times and I think it's maybe a few years old.

I saw a video from this rock and roll band where some dudes are drinking beer in a car, and then they see some guys cosplaying (I don't know if that's the correct term) and decide to start chasing them... or something like that, I can't really remember, but I'm sure there is a lot of beer drinking in the video. The video seems to be made fairly recent. It would be loving awesome if somebody can help me out to identify the band. Thanks.

Alright, I have to ask again since this is going to drive me nuts. The context is that I got this from some scam CD that was supposed to be the Audioslave "Civilan Demoes", but it was just some CDR. I like this song though, so I kept it, but it's not Audioslave. http://iug.macscene.net/temp/Monstereo45.mp3 45 seconds, 1.0 megs. Let me go and get my last post quoted here for the info on it. quote:I got this from a (transcoded) Audioslave CD. It was a bootleg "Civilian Project" CD featuring their demos. While the demos were legit, some of the songs were just Temple Of The Dog songs. However, this one song cannot possibly be them. It doesn't sound like the music of Audioslave/RATM/Soundgarden/TOTD. And that's sure not Chris Cornell singing. Trying to search for the lyrics only brings up more people talking about trying to figure out who this song is done by, or this song labeled as an Audioslave song.

At the end of this Simpsons episode there's a version of I Put A Spell On You by Screamin' Jay Hawkins that (as far as I can recall) doesn't sound like the one on his Best Of. It's way more mellow and as far as I remember there aren't the backing singers going "ooo, spell". I was a lot more impressed with how his insane voice contrasted with the calm backing of the song. Can anyone point me in the direction of that version? I know there were two versions but neither that I've heard sound like the one at the end of this episode.

I'm looking for a slow funk song, probably from the 70s. It sounds a lot like Brothers Johnson or Aaron Neville and the main chorus is two or three words repeated a lot. To me, the words sound like 'Lovin' You, Lovin' You, Lovin' You', ...' in the chorus. The line repeated is definitely three syllables, though. There are also multiple voices in the chorus. Overall, it's pretty mellow, and I've definitely heard it before. It may have been on a commercial--for some reason I'm thinking Burger King when about 5 - 10 years ago before the King showed up. The tempo isn't deathly slow or anything like some funk can be. It's definitely driving, but not by any means fast. Probably around 110bpm or so. Going through my collection as we speak... abelwingnut fucked around with this message at 03:37 on Jan 21, 2009 |

looking for a song i saw and heard on radio recently, its mostly in black and white in the video. guy is a bit old with whitish blonde curly hair, and is standing in most of the video and you see the background move as if hes walking. I was in an HMV the other day and I heard this song that had a sort of obnoxious new electro sort of beat. The vocals sounded female, but they were definitely pitch-altered at least subtly, I think, so I guess they could conceivably been male. Anyway the lyrics of the song were what intrigued me--they were almost entirely just lines from other famous old rap songs, like Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash, etc., and some more recent references as well. Anyone know what song this was?

Ok, I've got one that isn't so much a "identify this" but more of a "where can I find this?" Back when Nicktoons first started (sunday mornings when it was only Doug, Rugrats, and Ren & Stimpy) there was a commercial that featured a Nicktoons rap. The only words I remember go as follows: "...Doug, Rugrats and the Ren and Stimpy show. Yo, here we go, because we got a lot in store..." and then it went to a fast part that all rhymed, and had the line "a chilly dog" and showed either Ren or Spike (from Rugras) shivering from being cold. Does anyone else remember this? Youtube has nothing...

One of the few songs I liked from the Games Workshop store music that I have not been able to track down, unfortunately it's been a while since I heard it and only the most memorable parts to me stick in my mind. I guess you might describe it as post-grunge or alt-metal, the most notable parts would be the lyrics "I still believe" in the chorus and the riff that opens the track and is repeated at the end of each chorus, played without backing from the other instruments, which is obviously hard to describe without humming or something. It alternated regularly between a slow and quick beat. Not a lot to go on, I'm afraid, but if anyone with better ears than I spent much time in Games Workshop stores a few years back they might know it. This was an electro-house track from 2005/2006 with uplifting synths and female vocal chorus along the lines of "so phy-si-cal, you know it feels so good" (mondegreen alert). The kind of tune that would fit into a 16 Bit Lolitas set, unfortunately I only heard it once or twice so that's about the best description I can come up with. Googling the lyrics every 6 months has proved fruitless since they're pretty generic really.
