I watched my food delivery person's icon on the map and the fucker was literally walking and then spent ages waiting at two spots where I know city bike pick up spots are. Food got here cold and I literally could have walked to the takeaway and back in the time it took him to go one way.

The last time I ordered delivery they drove my pizza around the neighborhood, and then gave up, even though I can see the pizza place from my window

Ah I would've but this was when we were laid low with covid, back when people cared about covid It was the only time we ever ordered delivery because frankly I like to go for a little walk to collect my food anyway

fridge corn posted:The homelessness and poverty in LA is probably 100 times worse than Manchester Famously European city Los Angeles. You're probably right but I've never been to LA. I've been to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Manchester, , Wrexham, Oslo, Malmö, Bologna, Aarhus, Gothenburg, Edinburgh, Linköping, Örebro, Aalborg, Reggio-Emilia, Kalmar, Boston*, and Milano and none of them has even a fraction of homelessness that Manchester or Edinburgh have. also in most of them the homeless are either obvious migrants or your typical wizened old drunkards. in the UK the homeless seem to be a lot younger in addition to being a lot more numerous and seemingly mostly locals and not underprivileged recent immigrants or refugee like you see more in Italy or Sweden. *Also not European but basically European. Also has an insane amount of inequality and homelessness compared to the Nordics but honestly probably slightly less than the UK FreudianSlippers fucked around with this message at 21:01 on May 20, 2024 |

Jose posted:You mean the worst American accent is European? Boston is basically British. Lots of pubs, wacky accent, locals love standing in line, love Seafood, lots of centuries old buildings crammed awkwardly between ultra modern glass and steel buildings, decent public transport that used to be great years ago but has been completely hosed up by the morons running it, wacky words for things people say slightly differently next city over and saying a thing 'wrong' is a Shibboleth, all the placenames are basically copy/paste from Britain (Cambridge, Aberdeen, Brighton , Dorchester, Chelsea ,Manchester, Worcester, etc.) However they do have a very solemn and harrowing monument to the Great Hunger in Ireland in downtown Boston that directly implicates the British in that genocide. Something that would never be done in Britain where you only get a monument if you perpetuated genocide. Maybe you'd see something like that in Liverpool which I'm told is basically an Irish city and Glasgow which has similar demographics.

I seem to remember the Pound Bakery vegan sausage rolls were better, last time I tried them. The curry ones were very nice. I live in an area so poo poo that even the greggs shut down.
