11-4 at GP Charlotte with junk midrange/goodstuff. Picked up my last loss and knocked out of top 64 in round 15 :( Day 2 went waaay smoother than day 1. Got to take Brad Nelson out of the tournament. Not bad for my first GP and still had a lot of fun.

Hard to tell, he didn't say too much. He was on jund and my deck preys on jund anyway. Game 1 he took 12 off Bob and game 2 took 9 off Bob lol

I hope not, that's by far my worst matchup as Mill. Every card in my SB could theoretically come in against it (not that I would want to board in everything).

Just like others have said, today was the best Magic broadcast ever. It's not even close. If WOTC continues this for all GP/PT events, good things are coming. If I were SCG, I would be looking to steal a lot from this coverage.

Eldrazi seems to be good without being oppressive. Control is playable again. Hell, everything feels playable right now. Modern is amazing again and holy gently caress my balls are humming with righteous power right now.

MTGfinance is about to get silly again though. A lot showed up this weekend that wasn't on the radar and should be spiking pretty hard.

this is cfb coverage, not wotc coverage

that's why it's good

I'll post it in the eternal thread in the next day or two with a little breakdown when I get home. It felt really good and honestly at least 2 of my losses were purely to variance. Losing a favorable matchup because I didn't see a 4th land in about 15-20 turns feels bad. Most of my losses could have gone either way and I felt like I correctly prepared for the meta. Too many decks trying to play a 1 for 1 game.

I also beat a jeskai nahiri player who managed to resolve 3 ancestral visions.

Ironically "board in everything" could be a valid strategy against mill.

How big was it? Sure it won't die but taking a big Ravager back down to a 1/1 could be a valid line in some cases.

And by my guess we will have a 13 year old GP champion barring any ridiculous sideboard plan from the merfolk player since affinity crushes merfolk.

I did see his decklist yesterday during his Tron match, I just wanted to see how Bridge/Phantasm did on defense and how much work Scribe could do. I really question the need for both Bridge and Phantasm but I think Scribe could have a legit home in the deck especially with 4 Mesmeric Orbs. I was also hoping to see a Set Adrift->mill line for the world's rudest pseudo-Vindicate.

When did round 5 end up starting? SCG said at 4pm that round 5 would start in 30 minutes, and everyone in the card shop I was at just kind of laughed because there's no way they'd process 600 drops in thirty minutes.

Somewhere around 6 pm. Sitting around waiting sucked. We didn't leave until close to midnight and they extended the start of day 2 to 10 am.
