How well did Binary Domain do overall? I heard it did rather poorly on console but what about on PC? Because I'd love to see a sequel.

All signs point to no. Wikipedia says they sold like 20,000 copies when it came out. I'm sure that's gone up since then but still really weak.

I thought they were talking about the app being available now in the beginning, but they were just saying where it would be found in the Vita store.

How few people do you actually kill, properly end the lives of, in each Yakuza game including spinoffs? Is there a list like that?

My Dead Souls playthrough had me at nearly 30,000, but I guess that doesn't really count. And there's the highway gun battle in 1. That's about it, I think.

It's a kind of Batman situation where Kiryu doesn't kill people himself but if he kicks someone and they get hit by a car or fall off a roof then too bad, it's not like we can do anything about gravity and stuff.

Tons of people die by Kiryu's sword in Ishin and Kenzan though. Not random thugs on the street though interestingly; they all survive.

There's this incredibly weird sequence with Tanimura where you're going through the docks/warehouses and one thug has a gun, so you grab another thug and they accidentally shoot each other? But then you're thrown back into combat and they're still alive and have health for some mysterious reason.

In a couple of the rooftop fights in 4 you can throw dudes over the edge of the building.

Like, you stomp on dudes' heads a bunch in the Yakuza games, and I imagine it's difficult to get up and walk away from that. There's been a few times where I've pulled off some move on some guy and said "Yep, that dude's dead."

This reminds me of my favorite Yakuza moment ever. In 4 there is one of those side missions where you have to stop a suicidal guy from jumping off a building. Since it is a Yakuza game, the only way to get him to change his mind is obviously beating the poo poo out of him, so you end up in a battle. Except when I did it I went into the fight with a full heat gauge, and immediately performed the heat action.... which was throwing him off the roof.

I never wished the PS3 had the PS4's recording capabilities more.

Everybody can use guns in Yakuza 4. Guns are also super loving rare, so you're probably not gonna find many.

Which just means that when you finally unlock that sweet infinite ammo pistol, you feel like a walking god among men.

Akiyama couldnt equip the gun from the gift packs. Which chapter when guns becone usable.

The real answer is guns are for wusses. Real men fight with bare fists. And chests.

Besides, it's a proven fact that when a gun is drawn in the Yakuza universe, IQs drop sharply. "Oh, this seems like a lovely time to make a compelling speech and then turn my back on him, surely that won't go poorly".

Saejima and Kiryu can equip all guns, Akiyama can't equip any, and Tanimura only carries a gun to taunt with. But Crappy Jack is correct.

Yeah, but it's a long time before you can go back and forth freely. Basically, like a Final Fantasy game or whatever, there's a period before you finish the game where the whole world is open and you can finish up side stuff.

You do go back to Okinawa later on in the story, but you're not freely able to travel back and forth between Tokyo and Okinawa until the end of the game. You might want to clean up all the sub-stories in Okinawa because I forget whether or not the ones you leave behind will be waiting for you when you come back.

Did Yakuza 3 allow you to complete unfinished substories in Premium Adventure mode, or did that only start with 4? I know in 2 you didn't really have the option, it would just present all substories to you at once.

If I remember right, no. When you start premium adventure mode, the substories all reset to the beginning. I remember being annoyed by that.

That's a smart move and hopefully it will drum up some hype for Y5. Sega should have done that years ago. Also, where the heck is 3 on PSN?

How did the dating girls thing work originally in Yakuza 3, some sort of hostess minigame with affection levels? I'm assuming that randomly picking them up in Japanese McDonalds wasn't the original vision.
