If it was a manual I'd be more tempted. I do like that they went with a fake blower, as in the original.

Does this own? I feel like this does indeed own.

quote:

The time has come for me to sell my beloved 1992 Mazda RX-7 FD3S ReAmemiya AC987. I imported this car in the middle of 2017, and had it immediately serviced, detailed, and it has been used occasionally since on weekends and a few shows.
This car was imported from Japan, and has roughly 60,000 miles on it. It is a factory 5 speed, twin turbo 13B engine, and is fairly stock other than the body, wheels, and exhaust system!
This car was built by Re-Amemiya themselves in Japan. It has ALWAYS been garage kept in a climate controlled garage. It has no rust, and is in FLAWLESS condition.
The wheels are 3 piece 18x10 MANARAYs. VERY RARE and impossible to find.
The car was imported under the 25 year rule as a classic car. It is 100% legal and carries a clear title.|
I am not interested in trades, only looking to sell.

This is the only RHD RX-7 RE car in the USA, and only one of 3 total RE cars (the other 2 were LHD models built here and one doesn't have the FULL conversion like mine does).

I think that was on Jalopnik recently for nice price or crack pipe. I think it went down with a crack pipe loss.

I'd pay good money for an RX-7 of that generation, but it had better be as stock as loving possible.

Not gonna lie, I like everything but the front wheel arches (or, non-arches). I thought it was a Panoz or something at first.

They're something that, if I saw an immaculate one in a museum, I'd walk by and think "huh, neat" and continue walking. Not interesting/valuable to me in any other context.

I don't mind it either, it's clearly aping 911 style from the front but the overall effect is not too bad

See, I think it's a good looking car (mostly), but it's just "good". A fully stock FD is still a pretty good looking car, I'd say the front wheel arches on that kit are the only bit that's a pass from me. The issue is that its more of a side-grade than an improvement, if that.

I say that as someone who liked the kit, someone who doesn't like it obviously wouldn't even go that far.

Looking at the ad, I never noticed the "more ads by this user" button. Looks like it's either some lovely dealer, or some guy making craigslist ads for people; there's 13 ads and all but two of them are outside what looks like the same Target.

The early european cars are legal to import into canada, and the V10 TDIs and W12 are cheaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap because they suck at fuel economy.

3,300 euros for a V10 TDI
https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=270236003

4,000 euro for a W12
https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=280555928

If they didn't essentially leave the factory as basket cases, those would be nice cheap landyachts.

e: taking a look at interesting poo poo that will be available next year.

https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=277375064

lovely F-150s are crazy expensive in europe. That would be a $5000 truck here, if that's $27,000 after exchange.

Yup BMW M21 turbo diesel, gutless as hell and parts are getting harder and harder to find. A few years ago we rebuilt the one in the 524td and bought the last available head in the US. Every head you buy has cracks of various severity, if they don't they'll crack the first time they get warm.

That’s actually a reasonable deal if there aren’t any glaring structural issues. It’s not a super-desirable year, but darts kept mostly the same sheet metal from ‘67 till the end of production, so it’s close enough.

Now that Tom Magliozzi has sadly left us, I assume the market for Dodge Darts has dropped out.

Back sometime in the mid-70s, (about when that car was new) Car and Driver had an article that I still remember the first line of.

"If ever there was a kink in the hose of automotive progress, the Dodge Dart would be it."

The article went on that while the Dart was actually a decent car (which would accelerate, brake, and turn pretty well when asked to), the problem was apparently the owners of them. It went on to discuss marketing and why people gravitate to different types of cars.

My Dad had a '74 Dart at the time, so we had a good laugh over it.

A Swinger was my first car, they're a lot of fun. It looks like a lot of body work but if it runs that's a good deal I think.
