It’s either one. Symbiote is a fake word Marvel made up, but Symbiosis can be either Sim-Bye or Sim-Bee.

The average fan is not going to understand the Sony Marvelverse isn't connected to the MCU. Having a Venom origin movie without Spiderman is an awful idea. If the MCU goes down it will be because Sony pumps out a bunch of bad movies that a lot of people think are in the MCU.

Nah, everyone gets it that Deadpool isn't part of the MCU. I like that one of the conditions of the Sony films is they have to use the older MARVEL STUDIOS logo and it now has to say "In Association With" to further distance things.

I'd assume many get it for Deadpool because they know the X-Men movies aren't MCU. The fan that doesn't discuss these movies online but recognizes Venom as Spider-Man's bad guy might not get it.

Spider-man wasn't a part of the MCU for the first 8.5 years, people understand this stuff.

If it's good, I'm sure they could make some deal to borrow Hardy for a Spider-Man.

edit: I actually think the movie looks a bit too clean. I was hoping they wouldn't even try to make it seem like it could fit in with everything else.

Even if they don’t realize it’s not part of the MCU I’m pretty sure people have figured out that characters don’t always show up in the other movies.

It doesn't make sense that way though. The whole appeal of the dynamic is like, a weird jilted lover kinda deal. If Spider-man didn't have the symbiote first and Peter doesn't ruin Eddie it robs their being at odds of any dramatic significance.

Edit: The Lethal Protector arc is wasted without the offspring and The Jury, too.

Just reverse it. Spidey snatches it and sends it to Stark, who makes a black suit out of it and by then Brock is insane for the thing and tries to get it back.

It still works if you give them the Daredevil/Punisher relationship, only with Punisher being totally into the idea of killing Daredevil. From time to time, Venom's willing to let bygones be bygones as long as Spider-Man lets him eat a dude's face. Spider-Man will not let him eat a dude's face and they go back to punching each other.

That trailer was terrible. So they get Tom Hardy to play a timid reporter with a funny voice? What?

And the conversation with the SYM-BYE-OAT seem a lot more articulate than I would expect. Not that I think the SYM-BYE-OAT is on par with the Hulk in terms of conversation, but it just feels kind weird to me seeing Eddie meekly talking to the SYM-BYE-OAT and the SYM-BYE-OAT carrying on like that.

Also nobody told Jenny Slate this wasn't a comedy apparently.

That's a way better trailer than the first one. They should have just waited until they were able to add the CG.

I feel like the woman screaming at Eddie has to be a reference to Shriek, more than likely

IMDB has had Scream listed for a while, so it's more likely her. Especially since she's the one part of the Life Foundation that anyone remembers.

She even has a role in the Spider-Man ride at Universal!

62,984,828 people voted for Donald Trump. Millions don't believe actual news simply because they dislike the story. If they actually do a Tom Holland cameo, it will be much easier for people to be confused. There are many people that think the Eric Bana Hulk is in the MCU.
