I need help before I go mad. I was cruising through itunes about a month ago and ran across I guess an indie-folk band or maybe just a singer/songwriter. The singer was a black dude and that's all I remember. The music was pretty bland but I've lost the name and it's driving me crazy.

VideoTapir posted:I was playing Team Fortress 2 on a server allowing micspam, and there was some dude spamming this song. I'm about 90 percent sure it was a female vocalist, and the pronunciation made me pretty sure that she was Japanese. However, there were no real words involved as far as I could tell. It was basically a Japanese girl Scatman, except maybe a little more emphatic, overall faster (but without the bursts of John Moschitta-like speed) and with a little more range IIRC. To add to this, another comparison occurred to me today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPdB5j5Iv4Q It was also not very dissimilar to this. (The Hamsterdance version of that song from Robin Hood.)

It's a band I want to know more than a song... But the band/album was called Churches and Organs, or Organs and Orphans or something similar. The style was kinda music concrete/lots of loops and cut up samples and stuff... Also lots of piano. Can anyone help me out with this?

Ie: Are you thinking of Stone Temple Pilots - Sour Girl by chance? I thought they were saying flower girl for the longest time. Seems to fit the rest of your description, STP (one word), poppy song by an alternative rock band, the song wasn't overplayed but got on the top 40, etc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXahvUHICQ4&feature=related

I was cruising through youtube about a year ago, searching for "super car" videos when I came across this awesome jrock/jmetal whatever you'd consider it, song. The video consisted of this Japanese dude at a party with all these girls, and it was really sort of pop-rock, but the chorus each time would strip away the party and show the band being all metal. I had it bookmarked before my old HD burnt out. It wasn't particularly good, just interesting. Everything about it, from the youtube title to the lyrics were in japanese so I have no clue what the band were called or what they were even singing about. I'm assuming I'm hosed, but I'll give it a go.

this should be pretty easy. In the second episode of Freaks and Geeks, Lindsey throws a party. During it, there's a song playing. I must know what that song is. I would lyric search it, but the only part playing is "na na NA nana na...na na NA na na nana." Whenever the music for the party starts, I think around 5:00, That song, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlmq1CCYCzw&feature=related Actually, in this part of the episode, too, at around 6:25, what song is this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiNPhQJXpuQ&feature=related Thanks in advance.

Two song samples here. I don't know any of the lyrics, just the melody lines. Song 1 This is a rock/alternative midtempo song with male vocals. Song 2 This is a celtic/folk uptempo song with female vocals. I think the word "away" might be somewhere in the refrain.

It was a radio rock song about going back to live your life better. It contained the lyrics "I wish I could relive those days" and "I never had a Cherry Valance of my own".

There are some PVs of jrock bands (including a band obviously called Supercar) on youtube when I searched for 'super car jrock'. I looked through a few before I got annoyed with the music. One can only take so much of plodding jpoprock music. I only went through the trouble because you mentioned it containing metal. If you do find it though, I'd like to see it too.

Need some help identifying this jazz song. The song was recorded from a defunct jazz station in Indianapolis sometime in the late 80s, onto a cassette (hence the quality). Luckily the tape was in good enough condition for me to transfer it to my computer. I was told it was an asian jazz group that's behind the song but...who knows. Any clue?

The track "W.C. Fields forever" from Firesign Theater starts with a guy saying "Take off your clothes and come on in!" I'm positive I've heard this before, in that exact voice, in that same inflection. The problem is that I can't remember if it was in a song or a radio station ID or something like that. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? You can listen to the full Firesign Theater track here: http://www.last.fm/music/The+Firesign+Theatre/_/W.C.+Fields+Forever

This one shouldn't be too hard. I saw a dance video the other day at a friends and I really liked the song. It was pretty bare a sterile sounding (like kraftwerk) but clearly made in the 2000's. In the video the singer was dressed as the joker on one side of his body, like Prince in the Bat Dance video. I wouldn't be suprised if the song was big among the indie crowd.
