I think they would be somewhat less nimble than a thinner cat so it might take them more time to turn in the air. I know there's theoretically some optimal zone where cats that fall will suffer minimal injuries, and above that zone they are injured or killed from the height of the fall, and below it they don't have time to optimally prepare themselves so they get hurt because of that.
