Yeah the battery life on the PS4 controller is really disappointing. Apparently its that lightbar on the controller, which is frustrating because you dont even ever look at it.

I'm playing Super Mario World now and it's still absolutely sick. Why do SNES games age so well compared to the Nintendo systems before and after it

Polish and simplicity. They basically refined existing ideas from the NES era.

Same reason the PS2 era has aged better than the PS1 era. It was refining, rather than experimenting.

FactsAreUseless

Nintendo keeps trying to experiment with new control schemes, which is why Gamecube and Wii U games will age better than (most) Wii or N64 games.

Some games are good but most run like absolute garbage because of too many sprites and they're designed like arcade games without the ability to add quarters to continue. It was a period of growing pains

World is a great game but Mario 3's level design is basically perfect. It just blows me away how densely packed the levels are with interesting things.

SNES games are all designed at a 4:3 aspect ratio, designed for the norm at the time TV sizes. GBA had a more widescreen shape, and after checking, the resolution was 3:2. You're seeing more game than normal, not less.

GBA has a poo poo resolution though, so there's still a lot less screen to work with since they kept it pixel-to-pixel with the sprites.

With Mario Maker, you can remake SMW levels with SMB1 physics.
