Gorn Myson posted:A few Chelsea fans I know actually have this theory that Conte is trying to get sacked, and they dislike the hierarchy of the club so much that they're actually okay with this. Why are they okay with it? Conte getting fired doesn’t necessarily mean that the Chelsea hierarchy changes. Abramovich might have other things to worry about.

Mo Salah was awful for Chelsea and absolutely should've been sold. I was fine with Chelsea setting up defensively today, but they had no fight. And once City scored a striker needed to come on. Or before as I really don't like Hazard up front

Gorn Myson posted:Because Chelsea will just keep chugging along like they always do. So they'll sack the manager, hire a new one, bring in some expensive players, win a trophy or two and then repeat the cycle when said manager is unable to replicate previous successes with the way the club operates with its transfers. From what I understand though, things might be changing after this season because its embarrassing that they've let go of talent like KDB and Mo Salah and are now being punished for it. I could be wrong about this, but it looked like Chelsea were scrambling to get back in compliance with the league's homegrown requirement and also trying to be a bit more fiscally prudent (by their standards). Given how the Manchester clubs were throwing cash, I was surprised Chelsea weren't participating in that arms race and it made me wonder if things were changing with how Chelsea is being run. Recent articles I read seemed to hint at that too. https://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/premier-league/chelsea/flawed-transfer-policy-spoiling-contes-system-36666215.html http://www.goal.com/en-us/news/the-story-behind-chelseas-limp-title-defence/1pdszr4we908c1cv4d1aopd8d5 I'm probably putting too much stock in idle speculation. Costa pulled Contes wig off and called him a terrone and gave him an atomic wedgie, all of which are terms of endearment in the mean streets of Brazil.
