Allow me to introduce the Ikv 103. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Tank:S14_Ikv_103 Garbage fire of a tank. To ace this horrendous piece of poo poo you need ~ five damage dealing shots. Getting five damage dealing shots well.... It only fires HEAT. It is a low accuracy howitzer. You can't snipe because even if you miraculously hit something the chances of the HEAT actually dealing damage are a coin flip at best. So you need to be up close and personal, in a turret-less TD with no armour, a coin flip for penetration and a pathetic traverse, yeah let me know how that works out for you... It does have decent gun depression and AWESOME *ohmygod* camo but due to the previously mentioned issues neither of these are actually much loving use in practice. Now I suppose all of this would be tolerable but on NA tier V is painful in a KV1 tl;dr Ikv103 is for suicide bombing if the RNG allows even that.

I spend most of my playing time as a walk-on player on other clan's stronghold detachments these days. AMA! Some anecdotal observations: The matchmaker is definitely weighted. Sometimes I have more fun on teams with poorer players because you can average 3-4 kills a game and be the superstar. When you get on teams with purples you are going against teams of purples and if your rating is somewhere around mine, you're the scrub. Teams that want you on Teamspeak vs. silent teams is like a 60/40 ratio. Spanish language teams almost always want Spanish speaking players. French Canadian teams are usually more hard up for players and will let you join.

I just found it funny they list "Don't bother with premium as it's no better" as a pro. That seems more like a giant loving con since you'll likely never ever be the top tier in a match, or if so it's a damned rarity. IIRC for G1, it took into consideration the PR of the detachment leader, so you could game it by having the worst player in that position. Now I think it averages the players' PR, which is an actual surprisingly competent thing for Wargaming to have done and yet they still can't manage to apply anything like it to random battles.
