I'm afraid you just have not been paying attention. Trump said that the lawyer in one of his court cases should be removed because he's Mexican and therefore can't be objective. I am not making this up. Then he claimed that, after a gold star family (their son was killed in Iraq) gave a speech at the DNC criticizing him, the wife was "probably not allowed to say anything," implying her husband wouldn't let her speak because they're Muslim. This literally happened. Trump had multiple lawsuits brought against him in the 80s because he wouldn't rent to black people. They would mark their applications with a "C" for colored and then deny them. They settled out of court.

I can keep going. Trump is the most blatantly racist candidate in decades.

Sure, go ahead. I should warn you that I don't care about politics at all, though.

This is what I was waiting for. This is the logical way this goes because Palmer is worth less than positive for Facebook (maybe, I don't know what he does at Oculus at all besides being some poster-child PR person) if this is indeed some sort of scandal. So yes, active support of a political candidate should get you fired if it causes damage to your employer if you are the type to support the vague 'idea' that Trump supports. That's what makes this so good, the Trump way is to fire Palmer immediately and distance yourself from him to protect your earnings.

Not me personally because I am cool and logical but logic goes out the window when it comes to Trump so :toot:

I think there is a huge overlap between people who are into VR/PC gaming in general and people who would be 100% supportive of his actions. if this dude was in control of a car company or clothing company or something then yeah, but this is video games, the most vocal people are the ones who consider him a hero for this

I would agree with this, except when I looked at the oculus reddit, its basically a 1000 post long rant by 90% of the users there pissed at him, and I agree.

I like oculus. I like the software, I like the games, I like the headset, I prefer it to the vive and am happy I went with it, but them not nipping this in the bud or letting it get tacitly supported would make me turned off of it and the company. As far as I can tell he hasn't even done anything in years, they have legions of brilliant programmers, engineers, artists, designers doing all the great work, even at the beginning he needed Carmack to make it work, but just as a mascot it would turn me off if they don't do something about this/him.

That is pretty amazing, although I want to point out one thing. He writes he encouraged Trump to run last election, but Trump would have had to get into the 2012 presidential race by late 2011 or early 2012. That was before the Oculus Kickstarter when Palmer was pretty much a nobody, so something isn't adding up.

Right, that person 6 days ago wrote "I have supported Donald's presidential ambition for years. I encouraged him to run in the last election." Which would have been 2012, when Luckey was still a nobody. Was he hanging out and talking with Trump in 2012? Also, why would he use an alt account to hide this, but then confirm it was him to The Daily Beast? Something seems fishy.

edit:And also, Palmer doesn't drink alcohol, he's mentioned that in an interview before, although I guess that could change.

When someone says "I encouraged him to run" to me that means specifically talking or communicating with that person. I don't know how else you could read that. And he hasn't denied it because it's like 1am when the story came out, a perfect time to do a hit piece and let the misinformation flow before a correction is released.
