Honestly between the rape metaphor song, the racist song and the misogynist song maybe they should've been a little more selective with their soundtrack choices.

The Glowing Sea's a pretty cool location to stomp around in with Power Armor on, they should change the name to Radscorpia though for how many of the loving things I've killed while down there though, seen a few Deathclaws sleeping ontop of rocks in the distance too, that was pretty tense.

So much dakka. I had been working on improving the gently caress out of a suit of power armor, and upgrading a minigun to go with it. So I decided to take it for a spin on this mission. Get to the mission location and oh, some NPC joins in to help me fight? Sure, cool. Turns out she has a minigun too. The tri-barrel mod for the minigun is loving dissapointing though. It says it lowers the fire rate and increases accuracy, except it really really doesn't. It feels exactly the same speed and ginormous spread.

Digital Osmosis posted:So uh is there any point to the settlement system? Let me be a little more specific: if I put resources/perks/time into settlements, will I gain anything out of it? It seems like I can make new vendors who I'd be able to sell too and of course have more convenient workbenches to drop off my junk, is that it? Do the vendors have anything unique/interesting? Will settlements be able to produce materials I can use for mods? I've only done a few minuteman quests and while I like the idea it seems like just another way to spend resources and gain exp and I'd rather save them up right now for things that will help me kill more and be killed less Settlements can produce oil and adhesive via farms. They also have scavenging stations you can assign your extra dudes too who get you more junk. The shops give you caps. You can also, as you said build shops, but the level 3 shops are the best ones in the game. You don't need more then one settlement though. e: Unless you want more materials / shops, but you'd have to pick it up manually I believe.

Is there a decent guide to managing settler happiness somewhere? The ones I've found are all very basic, like "plant food and build turrets!" I've plastered the walls with kitten pictures and put up lights and furniture in all the rooms, but I can't get happiness over 70, and it randomly drops by 5 every now and then before slowly ticking back up. Right now Sanctuary has like 30 beds, 30 food, 45 water, 50 def, and plenty of power, and the transmitter's on, but recruitment has stalled out at 12 people. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Is this like a Sims thing where they have to see the kitten pictures to get happiness from them? Do I need to wallpaper the mutfruit farmhouse and guard towers with kittens?

Max settlers cap out at 10+ your CHA score, and happiness is only measured by giving them stuff they need to survive. People are really overestimating how robust and interesting the settlement aspects of the game are.

Are there any consequence to either letting Mama Murphy die or not? She gave me a line that's helpful and one I'm assuming'll be helpful down the line, but I managed to convince her to stop using chems before the final, not-very-helpful prediction, which I'm told is a difficult check, and I'm not sure how to proceed.
