I think my wife would be furious. I'm not sure how I'd come up with a reasonable explanation.

I've got an Amazon Echo and I can sense my wife is not happy with how much we talk, and the Amazon Echo isn't even designed for traditional sex.

I'm just getting around to watching the second series of Humans but despite liking the first series, i can't help but think that Westworld has really made this look like poo poo.

It's like a novelty knockoff of a show trying to depict almost the exact same themes, but doing so in such a hamfisted way.

I just finished episode 2 and i don't think i can be really bothered watching the rest of it if it's going to be the same trite garbage.
Ironically, many in the Westworld thread were complaining that Humans had done the concept before and better.

I've not watched either but surely the original Westworld predates Humans by over 40 years.

Yes but the original Westworld movie was a crap movie about a killer robot and nothing more.

Westworld the show is pretty cool neurophilosophy, ruined by a Lord-Of-The-Flies-style glut of symbolism, and an unnecessary amount of narrative fuckery that exists just to please the swarm of underpaid TV critics on the internet.

Kick-rear end music though.

What you really need to worry about is what happens when the human looking robot walks in on you having sex with the wife

Pretty much. It's been glammed up in presentation, but the lads are all legitimate sports hall and social club wrestlers. The scene never went away, but due to it getting hot in recent years, it's made it back on the tele.

Been having a lot of fun with my wife doing an impression of the main character from Rillington Place. If you like suspense, drama, and having a giggle with your SO doing impressions I highly recommend watching it. Great stuff.

It's also lead to a bit of an interesting bidding war for talent, because ITV are at least interested in it being a regular series if the viewing figures are good, so WWE shat themselves at the idea of a different wrestling group being on proper telly over here and scrambled to sign a bunch of guys and slapped together a UK-specific show in Blackpool in January and may be trying to get a British spin-off series up and running.

I read the results sheet and it looks a bit half arsed with most of the wrestlers being recycled for a second match in the event. Mixture of people I know and don't, Sha Samuels being my particular favorite. He's always great live.

Now, all this talk of sports is just making me disappointed that Mo Farah wasn't the Sports Personality of the Year.

No disrespect to Andy Murray, since he's a great tennis player and it's not like he doesn't deserve it, but he'd won twice already while Farah became Britain's most decorated athlete this year.

Personally I voted for Laura Kenny but Mo would have been a good option too. Andy Murray winning again was the second worst choice the British voting public has made this year.

Part of that's because a lot of the bigger names are already spoken for (Scurll, Osperay, Zack Sabre), plus the folks behind it are TV people, not wrestling people so they're trying to do a halfway house between the old WOS and WWE style. Biggest name in terms of recognition among non-hardcores is probably Grado, and Grado's not the guy you want as the centrepiece of a promotion on national TV.

And more to the point someone is the number on tennisman every year it's not like it's all that special but being as dominant in your field as Mo is special.

I dunno to be fair to Murray he won Wimbledon, got an Olympic gold medal AND became number one. That's pretty drat good, especially for a British tennis player.

They're clearly going for character over in-ring performance. The Progress/Rev Pro guys are all fantastic in the ring but building a popular, TV-based promotion on them would take a long time to get the necessary recognition from casual fans. Grado/Dave Mastiff/Sha Samuels/El Ligero are all personality first and that's going to help with building viewership, and they're all decent-ish in the ring (well, at least Grado used to be, we'll see if he can get that back again).

They just unveiled a UK championship belt. But to be fair I think they've had these plans for a while, and now just pulled the trigger on it quickly. They're trying to kill Indy wrestling at the moment.

Eh, it's pretty convenient that they announced it now, and up until a few weeks ago the belief was that January was going to be for a women's showcase/tournament, down to a bunch of ladies having been told to keep their schedules open.

I'd say its a good time for wrestling given that ITV are apparently making a serious push to make WOS Wrestling a weekly thing and the UK wrestling scene is thriving, but WWE's product is so poor that its hard to say.

But I've still got tickets to both nights at that UK tournament soooooo.....

And as Brits should be proud of how loving amazing Jack Gallagher is.
