Yes. Since the 7 any well manufactured iPhone can be submerged. Some are not well manufactured. It is not covered under warranty. Don’t do it on purpose.

But yes you can.

My husband keeps his 7 on a ledge next to the shower and grabs it to change tracks or check a text. No issues.

Not sure if I would literally shower with it though 😬

Just as soon as they released 11.1 stable, 11.2 beta is now available. Looks like they took care of the calculator animation bug, so it should be able to keep up with furious tapping now.

weird, i contacted UPS and was told that the sender (sprint) would not allow any changed to be made in where it was delivered. kind of a bummer.

That's standard with all the carriers. I tried to do similar with Verizon when the 7 came out.

I’ve taken my 7+ into the shower plenty of times. Sometimes I’ll put a little bit of diluted soap on it to wash it. Sometimes if it gets too wet, the speaker will sound muffled. But that always corrects itself.

I don’t ever try to submerge it or purposely compromise the phone though.

The catch being if you want to do this you often can't do it on launch day, and instead need to wait for the launch fervor to die down.

The hold message for UPS also said AT&T wouldn't allow changes to delivery, but I did talk to someone on the phone so presumably they would've told me if it wasn't possible. Did you try hold for pickup or an actual address change? Maybe they allow the former but not the latter?

Sorry, guy.
Just a quick PSA re: Iphones holding at UPS facilities.

I do this all the time with packages. You can go and pick it up first thing...

I just tried to do it and they were like "no problem!" And then were like, it won't be available to pick up until around 6pm. I explained that usually hold for pick up is like when they open, but she was insistent this was a special case and would be later.

So just make sure of what you're getting into... if you go that route.
[edit] Also sometime in the last year, it looks like the hours for some destination facilities changed to 10 am instead of 8am. So be warned.

I mean, it's a given that launch day phones regardless of style are always in short supply.

But I got my iPhone 8+ 256GB unlocked on launch day (as did many) because of the X suppressing demand for that model.

I'm not a USAmerican but Apple shipped my Saddle Brown exactly like they shipped my iPhone X, UPS with 'signature required', and my concierge signed for it just fine.

And generally I've had a lot of signature required packages with every courier in the world and all of them let my concierge sign, it's never been a problem.

While it will be busy and will take longer than a non-launch day, they let people not buying phones go right in and browse and purchase whatever, generally.

That said, people buying phones will also probably be picking up AirPods, so they might be gone by the afternoon.
