That this kind of thing is apparently easy enough to provoke in a range of bird species makes me curious: does any culture have an expression or insult like "May a horny bird gently caress the back of your head!" ?

It was just a wooden garden stake, not that big a deal compared to what it could have been. When I first saw the video, I thought it was a star picket, which could have done a lot more damage to the guy caught in the follow through.
