Out of the 5 or 6 places in KC we went to on our Beer, Bourbon, BBQ, Baseball road trip it was between Joe's and Gates for me. Joe's had the best damned burnt ends and brisket I've ever had, but I loved the ribs and pickles at Gates. KC was a really great town.

it's highly underrated- like not incredibly remarkable, but better than you think it's gonna be Gates is the thing I miss the most about living closer to KC tho like every town in KS/MO has at least one local BBQ joint burnt ends, turnt friends
