The other was a gaming and anime nerd who unfortunately suffered from rather serious, untreated mental illness and was unable to hold down a job for more than a few months because of crazy outbursts where she did things like threaten to blackmail her bosses.

His family moved here from Iran too, so it really doesn't make sense. But I do remember reading somewhere that they tend to be suuuuuper conservative though, just the current GOP loves to poo poo all over them, driving them away.

I always wonder where the line is for self-defeating ideals like that. When does he stop rooting on conservative politicians banning immigrants from his own country? Would he cheer if senators were calling for first generation families to be thrown out and he himself faced deportation? I'm betting he'd get angry the moment it stopped making him feel superior to others, but it would only be because he should be an exception and obviously all those other dangerous immigrants should be kept out.
