Well the post was homophobic yes, but it is pretty impossible to deny that the whole thing had rather homoerotic, fetishistic undertones.

My favorite stupid angle was when Edge and Booker T spent 3 months including a Wrestlemania match over who should get an endorsement deal for a new brand of Japanese hair products and everyone had to sit around and pretend that any of it made any sense.

I don't really remember watching the hand segment, and I didn't see the Vick segment live. The Kane/Lita stuff in 2004-05 was definitely the worst. Even if you ignore the Snitsky part.

The worst I've ever seen in any context could be the Souled Out Miss NWO segments but I didn't see those live at the time. Seen live? Um Trish Stratus being mopped with "sewage" or when she had to strip and bark like a dog has to be up there. I don't know if those two are so much dumb though. So overall I'm gonna go with when TNA repeated the warrior mirror bit with the women although I'm sure there's been way worse than that.

Was it ever determined whether Abdullah the Butcher had hep C (and subsequently gave it to people)? I remember watching that documentary and he said he was waiting on his test results, but then nothing recent on google says anything about whether he came up positive.

The worst angle for me was anything to do with Val Venis, particularly his feud with Kaientai and the 'CHOPPY CHOPPY YOUR PEE PEE' segment. I mean, the casual racism, stupidly crass/cartoony situation and the fact that I was supposed to care about the fact that a porn star wrestler was getting into a feud over who he was screwing was like, the perfect storm of poo poo that resulted in like everyone in my neighborhood and school walking in to see what I was watching on television at that exact moment. On a somewhat related tangent, Val Venis never really clicked for me as a character, either. His whole "HELLO LADIES" thing seemed like he was going to be coming off as a sleazier Rick Rude (which would've been awesome) but instead it seemed like he was being positioned to be a face, which could've worked, but the execution had a guy coming across as a heel but acting like a face. It was really loving weird.

The dumbest segment that I've seen that isn't mentioned already was Rikishi's "I did it for the Rock". I think that point forward Rikishi's popularity never recovered.

I'm saying, though, that when you see Rikishi driving a car, his blonde hair is probably not going to be the most distinguishing feature you notice or remember. Rikishi is a pretty recognizable dude and looks nothing like HHH, HBK, or really any other wrestler on the roster.

I guess if they wanted to make it someone that no one saw coming while keeping it a blond, they probably should've just picked Eddie, given that he actually knew how to work heel and cut heel promos without sounding like a complete goof. But it still would've been better to just make it Hunter or Shawn, since the only reason there was not to make it Hunter was to turn him face, which Hunter didn't want anyway since being the fourth biggest face or the company when you can be the number one heel ain't no choice. e: flashy_mcflash posted:Yes they did. Well the most logical guy and the one who was actually hinted at on the PPV was Test, but then his stock in the company plummeted across the next year. In their defence, and this is only a limited defence, but Rikishi had actually had a good year establishing himself in the upper midcard and had been getting good babyface responses. It's just that then deciding the best way to use this momentium was by turning him heel made no sense.

There was an evening gown match on Raw in 98 that was Sable vs Jackie, and Jackie popped out of her dress multiple times. Pretty much on every bump they would come out. I couldn't believe they were actually showing it (it was like the last match), but the weird thing was the next day, I couldn't find a single thing about it online. That was in the day when every wrestling "news" site had their own Raw reports and screencaps and such, and I didn't see a single mention of it, or see any picture. It wasn't until a few years ago that I could download that episode and confirm that it actually happened.

Now, was it his fault that his stock fell, or was it HHHs taking over his place in the Stephanie storyline to further his own real life ambitions by making a then-kinda-frumpy Stephanie fall in shoot love with him?! Here's the weird thing about all this: During this time period HHH was a face anyway. He turned face out of his feud with Angle. And then he turned back heel when he was revealed to be the mastermind of the Austin hit & run anyway. Or am I remembering that last bit wrong? I just don't know why they bothered with Rikishi as the bridge between Austin getting hit & the HHH reveal. The only thing I can think of is that HHH wasn't happy with his post-Kurt face role in the company, and demanded he turn back heel and be put in a program with Austin. That way Kurt could be the champ, but HHH would still be the main event

I'm pretty sure Hunter was a face at the time, but if I recall correctly, he didn't want to be since he knew, at best, he'd be the number three face in the company, most likely number four, but if he was heel, he'd be number one. He was right, though. It would've been hard enough being a bigger face than Undertaker, let alone Rock and Austin, when he had no competition as the companies top heel, and had yet to feud with either 'Taker or Austin.
