My new Bayern shirt (bought it at the CL final for 75 EUR, ugh) has "FC BAYERN MUNCHEN" on the top of the back side. Not sure how I feel about it.

Amen. I wear a jersey on gameday if I haven't jinxed us, and out of season I'll wear it whenever the gently caress I want to. Who cares if someone on the internet said you were a twat for wearing them, do whatever the gently caress you want.

I think the difference in wearing sports shirts is a european/american thing.

I mean, if you wear a football shirt to a pub or something here in the UK there's a pretty high chance you won't be allowed in.

I wear mine playing 5 a side or to the gym, but I wouldn't wear one if I was going out for anything other than a pint of milk or something, I'd just feel like a twat.

Doubled if it had a name on the back.

having done this on many of my jerseys (up to almost 60 now), I would say, if you have any palmolive or dish washing detergent that is a grease specialist, put this on and let it sit for a day or so before washing it... whether you then wash it by hand or in a machine... usually does the trick

Depends on the team, some put the player name above the number and the team name below it, some do it the other way around.

Well they look kind of silly when worn publicly, but I don't have any problem with them really. I've tried to avoid getting printed backs ever since I took one out of the washer and one of the numbers had come off.

I still do the ghetto version I did in high school for lacrosse: cut off sleeves of an old shirt and thin as you want.

and when I was talking about wearing jerseys out, I didn't mean out as in to a bar or something (unless I was watching a game there). I meant like just hanging out, bsing at a friends or like a shirt to throw on after you leave the beach. Not any place you'd be expected to be dressed up.

Also, is it more annoying to hear an American call it soccer, and jerseys,'kits', or do you prefer we try to conform. I just sound like a retard either way.

If you are British and you visit the US, make sure to bring a few kits, as if you wear them around people will think you are cool.

Really I find it hard to imagine being judged for wearing a football jersey.

https://www.minejerseys.com which used to be https://www.jerseybbs.com does, ususally. It's ~$28.00 (as opposed to $25.52).

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=2911318&pagenumber=29 has pics from my purchase and Jet Ready Go's purchase of shirts from there, although I think JRG got theirs before they really moved to minejerseys.

Weird. Here in the US, you hardly ever see a jersey for any sport without a name/number on the back. Picking your favorite player is part of the fun.

You'd never get into a high-end nightclub with a sports jersey on, but your local bar won't give a poo poo. People wear jerseys anywhere you'd wear something casual... to the beach, parks, shopping, whatever.
