I get so many weird looks when I walk into a place and ask for their stupidest appliances. I don't feel like having a bunch of wiretaps in my house, why is that so strange to people. The lesson in all this is to learn how to remove the brain from electronics.

Is it safe to store a vcr vertically if it’s not powered?? I have a 1997-era panasonic that I don’t use very often and I want to put it away in a closet. Can I put it on its end without damaging any of the 20-year-old parts?

Just realized this may not be the right thread for tech questions about old technology. Sorry if this isn’t the place.

I once tried to wrangle together a myth.tv setup, so I was a real horse in the swamp when it came to using any sort of smart tv or streaming box when a computer was perfectly fine. This came to a head when I set up a second television set in the house and found trying to keep a kodi database in sync between two installs just isn't worth the effort, as well as the new wrinkles 4K media caused with HDR/dolby vision. I set up a plex server, and tried a bunch of things before settling on a 2022 apple tv, which is the only streaming box that plex can direct play any file I throw at it. Once I finally set all that up my life became so much easier than having to babysit kodi all the time.

I've often wondered about his choice of coiffure. Cutting you own hair (as I've done) doesn't mean you HAVE to do a really ugly bowl cut that makes everyone think you're a crazy bitter divorced misanthrope hoarder believer, even when you are.
