I switched away when he started talking about the Iraq War and his brutha. SO embarassing that he will just never get that question right if he wants the help of his brother's corrupt plutocratic friends like Krauthammer.

Jeb Bush is loving terrible at running for office, and the GOP establishment were idiots for thinking otherwise.

The initial first debate where Fox was besides itself in propagandic fury to promote Fiorina was the mayonaise for 2 hours episode of Wacky Deli.

Intel&Sebastian posted:I'm sorry to pick on somebody from pages ago but LOL, of loving course they were. They were trying to kneecap everyone but Bush out there. Did you not notice Fox news all of a sudden growing spines and asking Republican candidates difficult questions? Ones specifically tailored to gently caress up said candidates? I had never expected such a hostile tone from Fox News. I think Trump had expected a walk in the park, considering that he's friendly with that crowd. Trumps ascendancy makes me think that not only have the republicans not have any control over their political system (at least, at this point), but the Fox News wing might not even be able to control itself. Megyn seemed pretty pissed when people cheered that Rosie O'Donnel remark. All of the candidates got some pretty hard ball questions (except for Jeb, who still managed to say nothing exciting at all) but Trump got the brunt of the offensive and he only really stumbled once or twice. Oh, and speaking of softball questions, let's not leave out that Carly Fiorina 'won' the first debate by essentially never being asked about her embarrassing tenure at HP. How dumb do you have to be to think that if you just don't mention it now, it won't come up in the general? The Koch bots and Trump were pretty deft at not giving any real answers to things, while Kasich and Christie managed to sound like the adults in the room. Props to Kasich for not taking the Trump attack bait. He's a shithead, but at least he's a smart shithead. He also managed to spin Obamacare as a good by describing it's effects and also not calling it Obamacare once in his response. Smart. I'm curious to see how the polls will shake out after this. It's also interesting from the RNC side of things. No doubt they were trying their hardest to knock Trump out, but it hasn't quite taken hold as well as they'd wanted it to. I'm not sure there are any bigger guns to pull out than his bankruptcy. Trump will take a hit after this debate, but he's gonna start building momentum again in the interim.

Megyn Kelly has a proven track record of acting like a human being when a GOP hate golem starts flipping her particular table. But yeah it was particularly hilarious to watch Fox go all in for Fiorina and then minutes later try and cut trump off at the knees by mentioning his casino bankruptcies. There was so much fuckery going on in this thing, if it was ever expected to be anything other than a partisan kabuki shooting gallery or if it involved a non-joke political party, people would be outraged.

I was hoping for a stronger Trump showing, but I figured Jeb and Walker would look weak. I hadn't imagined that Kasich would step up though, or Christie, for that matter.

Rest assured Republicans, who think Fox should have been objective, are outraged and Trumps numbers will surge while they pretend like Carson-mentum or some other bullshit to prevent Trump from looking good is the result of the debate. Trump is gonna run independent.

The only reason we're seeing Kasich as having done well is that he's slightly less crazy than the rest of the field, showed a modicum of compassion on the gay rights issue and had the home field advantage in the debate with the crowd eating out of his hand.

Maybe if the context was some of her work for the Clinton Foundation or as Secretary of State it might be a tossup but the context is very obviously electoral speculation and the human rights campaign cannot yet (Roberts is a relatively young and physically healthy man) run for president as it is an incorporated entity.

The funniest outcome of this whole farce would be this: 1) Sanders upsets Clinton in the primaries 2) Trump runs independent against Bush/Walker/Rubio as GOP nominee 3) President Sanders, self-declared socialist, every Republican in Congress dies of massive anger stroke
