After all the talking to police chat earlier I am still unsure what type of solicitor you talk to when you've done a crime and want to get away with it. To avoid moral quandaries we can take a hypothetical unambiguous good that is also a crime, like maybe you played Iain Duncan Smith's head like a bongo and he uncoolly called the police on you and wants to press charges.

Thread moving fast this morning. Like a lot of people, I saw a second ref as the only real route to maybe getting more liberal people on board, but I don't think any of us predicted how deliberately, pathetically, performatively dimwitted they would pretend to be, acting like monkeys staring at the monolith. That, along with them sinking the customs union plan, is what made me give up forever on the idea of the left being nice.

You go on the dark web, and then 6 weeks later a paralegal in beige linens hacks through kudzu into a clearing and kneels in the entrance of an adobe hut. "We need you back, Ace." He gruffly replies that he's done with that poo poo but then his eyes stray to the powdered wig hanging from the wall

There was a no masker in front of me in the queue in co op. At first I din't realise he wasn't wearing one. I was just looking around waiting for my turn. I just heard him say something about "government doublespeak" in reply to the cashier who I am guessing asked him how he was doing. It was all very awkward.

MikeCrotch posted:Remember that Labour lost over 2 million to the Lib Dems and Greens in 2019. Sticking with the (increasing unpopular) soft brexit plan might have meant keeping some of those north and Midlands seats but would have meant losing Putney, Plymouth, Canterbury etc. It's highly unlikely Labour would have come out ahead in that transaction especially as the majority of the membership would be demoralised by that plan. They might have lost those voters, but if those voters had gone to the libdems and labour had kept the red wall, wouldn't that mean more votes away from the tories at least, even if it doesn't mean labour wins.
