The GOP still hasn't learned that the only way to kill the Trump is to ignore him. Pretend he doesn't exist and he'll scream until he's hoarse. Look past him like he's invisible and he'll be enraged and crumble. His victory condition isn't winning the election, necessarily. That's the best case scenario. His win condition is to be noticed. Take that away, and victory is assured. Sadly no media company can ignore the voice of the Trump, so his victory is assured. The only question is whether it's a complete victory to the White House or just for another round of his name in headlines. Trump is neither conservative or liberal, neither libertarian nor socialist. He is a winner and it doesn't matter what policy it is, he will win by any means necessary.

Is this breaking tables? He has a bit of a lazy eye too. We were given a free root beer float and bumper stickers at the end. Plus I now have a picture with him.

"Santorum's book includes calls to change Obamacare and other social welfare programs that he says make people dependent on the government instead of a job.: It's really amazing that they have spent so much time railing against Obamacare that they forgot what it actually does, there is no jobless person dependant on Obamacare, they already got MedicAid, the working poor can get MedicAid as well now and a small subset of the middle-class get tax-credits, i.e. TAX CUTS to pay for health insurance. Jesus, you think Obamacare sucks fine, argue that point but now it seems that all the republicans are arguing about some program they just made up in their head. The only good thing about President Trump would be when someone inevitably tries to block his idea and he goes on national TV to say "speaker boehner blocked my bill today because he wanted to add an amendment to it which only benefits his district or X business." That would be hilarious.

Mr Ice Cream Glove posted:The worse they treat Trump the more I think he will run 3rd party Yeah, I think if things continue along the same course - Trump getting snubbed at events, getting hardball questions at debates, etc - a third party Trump run is just about guaranteed. It wouldn't be the first time a billionaire felt snubbed by the GOP and ran on his own. I've felt like the GOP courting their fringe base was doomed to end in a civil war eventually, and the pot seems to be boiling over at last. Fight to capture the racist vote, racists are going to elect racists. Fight to give billionaires undue power in the political process, billionaires are going to determine who you put in front of your party. Do both, and what you're going to end up with is a crazy, uncontrollable racist billionaire. Hello, Donald.

Yes. For some reason the ability to start your own business without risking the lives of your children by leaving your corporate heath plan doesn't count as freedom. When it comes to the possibility that republicans can actually do anything to "fix" Obamacare, I find Krugman's "three-legged stool" analogy very simply explains why this cannot happen: http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/09/09/revenge-of-the-three-legged-stool/ (don't know if the analogy is his originally or if he appropriated it) Basically, the idea is that Obamacare has three essential parts: the mandate, the subsidies, and pre-existing condition coverage. You take one away, and it no longer works.

Mr Ice Cream Glove posted:This site is amazing! They LOOOOOOOOOVE Ted Cruz That site is incredible. I was poking around and the metrics it uses are 100% off from reality. They hate Huckabee on the environment. The only thing he gets a green thumb on is supporting nuclear power, which I do too because it doesn't omit greenhouse gasses, but still. Huckabee supported the liberal and economically destructive cap-and-trade policy: “I also support cap and trade of carbon emissions. And I was disappointed that the Senate rejected a carbon counting system to measure the sources of emissions, because that would have been the first and the most important step toward implementing true cap and trade.” (YouTube) Huckabee believes there should be government incentives for so-called “green energy” sources. He told Salon, that, “I think that there ought to be some government grants and subsidies for those who accelerate ways to produce the [green] energy.” (Salon) In 2008 Huckabee backed subsidies for the Renewable Fuel Standard (ethanol). (The Hill) Huckabee supports federal standards on fuel that drive up the cost of cars. (Salon) Huckabee supports expanding the role of nuclear power. (Salon) Huckabee’s plan for reducing greenhouse gases would include imposing light bulb standards, mandating the use of compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs), and replacing carbon-based sources of energy. (Salon) Huckabee is open to using the tax code to force electricity producers to shift from carbon-based fuel sources.
